  1. Well I don't really understand your question.... but I wouldn't recommend getting a ball python. I currently own 6 ball pythons and they are the worst eaters. They aren't as docile as the Internet says they are. They usually pulls back when you pick them up or if you get to close to their head. What I would recommend to you is getting a red tail boa or some type of boas. They are usually much better eaters and more calm around children...at least all mines are. I currently also own 6 red tail boas. You shouldn't try getting colubrids just because they can be a little nippy, though they are wonderful eaters. Just email me if you want any more info on snakes.

Proud owner of 6 ball pythons, 6 red tail boas, 2 colubrids.

  4. sorry dident understand your question

  5. more money? yes females are more and get larger than males.

  6. No their the same price as males.

Goodluck to you and your brother

  7. more what?  agressive...expensive...smelly?

  8. Are more...?

Bigger: Yes, female Ball Pythons will grow about 6-12" more than males.

Agressive: No, almost all ball pythons take well to handling and are usually very mellow tame animals, this is why they are recommended for begginers. Even so, all animals have different personalities and termperaments. Look for an animal that is alert and curious about you and seems calm.

A Ball python will usually not grow more than 5', even if it is a female. They aren't big enough to consider a baby or toddler possible prey; but ball pythons are heavy-bodied snakes, so caution should be advised even when they don't represent a threath.

From my own experience, my nieces are 3 and 5 years old, and they love being able to touch and 'pet' my  pythons when I'm around to make sure they're being gentle and don't get too excited and swat or grip too hard by accident. I always hold the python while they touch it, no matter how small it is. Children are curious and will want to touch and see any family pet, if not any animal they can get their hands on.

  9. It'll be fine with a 2 year old, just don't let him hold it.  He could get Salmonella because his immune system is probably not as built up.  And females and males cost the same.  At a reptile expo you can get them for like $15.
