They said they were going to take it to the vets in a few weeks, and ask about worming then, but shouldn't they be doing it already? should i advise them of this?

  1. Don't get a pup from this "breeder" as they obviously don't know what they are doing.

I start deworming my pups at 3 weeks of age.

  2. That's FOUR weeks old yes you should be worried a pup is too young to go home then! It should be a minimum of EIGHT weeks old before going home with a new owner. This is NOT a responsible breeder do NOT get the puppy from them you are asking for medical bills up the wazoo and a badly bred dog.

  3. some breeders do and some dont. its about if you okay with it or move on to another breeder.  also, as soon as you get your dog u would want to get it vet checked and they should do some fecal testing and all that stuff some even give you a puppy packet to take him with.

  4. Most animals don't need their first vet visit until about 6 weeks of age.  I wouldn't worry about the worming, just understand that is an additional expense you will bear.  Just make sure the price for the dgo is adequate with what they have done to it- shots, worming, registration is you are going that route.  Getting a puppy who has not been wormed is completely normal.  I think the puppy is too young to be doing that at 4 weeks anyway.
