  1. plenty of cafes to choose from mate.

  2. if you are going to London and have some time to waste and want a nice cafe try Cafe Placka, if you use the left side entrance to Kings cross and head towards the traffic lights on the opposite side of the road is McDonald's and to your right is KFC, head over to KFC turn left when get to KFC and follow the road they will be a print shop and just after that you will find The Cafe Placka

  3. Which station? Kings Cross or Durham?

Oh sorry, I only know about Kings Cross!

  4. There's not so much as a waiting shelter on Durham station let alone refreshment rooms! - and as the station is at the top of a hill and the town centre is at the bottom (where all the facilities are situated), I suggest you spend your time in the town and leave yourself up to fifteen minutes to get back up to the station in time for your train.

  5. Yes, plenty.

  6. From what I remember, the city centre is only about 10 minutes' walk from the train station so you should find somewhere that's open, during the daytime at least. Go and see inside Durham Cathedral if you get time.
