i dont care about looking cool, or showing it off. I want it for myself and its not just just a 'hey look i have a tattoo in my mouth' thing, it actually means something to me. I'm thinking about getting a star on one corner, and the moon on the other corner. Yess theres a story behind it but its very personal. So i wnna know your thoughts and concerns, i will take them into consideration, but the tattoo is something my parents cannot know about, thats why its hidden in such a place.

  1. Ok, here's the skinny on inner lip tattoos... Make sure you find a GOOD tattoo artist who has done them before... it took me about five or six lips before I had the depth and technique down, as it varies from a standard, on skin tattoo.

Also, make sure you're artist offers free touchups, because the tattoo will more than likely come completely out after the first application, its just the nature of the tissue in your lip... it is super aqueous, and you need to build a little scar tissue for the pigment to stick in.

Just so you know, I've had my inner lip done for about five years, it was done once, then redone about a week and a half later, hasnt been touched since then, and is still super dark.

    Good luck, enjoy.

  2. If this is your first tattoo, I'd suggest against it. Try getting something small on another part of your body first to determine if you can tolerate the pain of having your mouth tattooed.I don't know how bright your parents are, but I'm sure they'd notice your lack of eating and talking because of the pain. As with any tattoo, it requires much thought, however take a bit more time to consider how much this really means to you, and the consequences of this tattoo in 50 years....or next week.

  3. r u sure its a personal story?  if u want it hidden why dont u put it on ur butt or hip or something? but  i think thats gonna hurt so bad!! good luck  ;]

  4. I agree with u, a tattoo is for yourself and its personal.

I think they are cool, i wanted one but was scared so had a lower back one and one on my upper back.

but i like them very much, also its good because people only see if you want them to

    its cool.

  5. Ya that will probably hurt, maybe you should think about another spot?  If you don't want your parents to know and you get it in your mouth, and they see you, it will probably hurt to eat or talk.

  6. First off do NOT listen to the people that are telling you not to get it. But I do recomend waiting. I have a tattoo on my inner lip. It was very painful and it took a long time for you to tell what it was. The people had to do about four applications of the ink, and again it is very painful. Then two weeks after I got it done I got it retouched, again more then one application of ink but it did hurt less then the first time. And the people who are saying that you won't be able to eat or talk and **** like that are either ******* or have never got a mouth tattoo. Five minutes after I got my tattoo finished (the first time) I went to get a chipolte burritto. Then after I got it retouched my friend took me to Chili's.

  7. ouch ouch ouch! first of all, wait til after your birthday so you can have it done by a professional who won't s***w it up. whatever you want is fine for a tattoo, but one inside your lip will not last a lifetime...because of all the fluids and the constant change of skin inside your mouth the tattoo will eventually disappear

  8. I don't understand how you can enjoy a tattoo that you have to manually turn down your lip and look into the mirror to see. Why not get them on your body? There are surely bits of you (apart from the inside of your mouth) that your mother doesn't see, now that you're in your late teens?

  9. omg that's so cool!

i never thought of that before!

but won't it hurt a lot?

and just to take it into consideration that it's in your mouth for life.

but i know you already know that!

    good luck! :D

  10. Personally I don't really see the point of getting a tattoo if it's on your inner lip. I would get it someplace else you can hide easily. Your back you can hide with a t-shirt, your ankle you can hide with pants, your butt you can hide even in a swim suit, your ribcage..... there are so many other spots you could put this. I just don't really see the point on your inner lip. Plus I don't think it looks very good there - they always look kinda blurred like you have a cut or a bruise inside your mouth.

  11. Fir the money you spend, nice earrings

or ring will look a lot better. Grow older

maybe one day a tat will really come

    your way.

  12. I think that getting it in the inner lip is just lots of money being spent redoing it. They don't stay well there. You should consider a different spot. Besides it's your 18th birthday. why hide it from anyone or your parents.
