  1. When I first went, they took all my x-rays, then took a molding of my teeth, after they cemented on the brackets, then placed the wire in. And tadd-da! Braces! It feels really weird once you get them on. You will feel like you have this big lumpy thing in your mouth that you want to spit out, but you cant! You will soon feel my pain! The first day was horrible, the pain was unbearable. But after a week a so, you get used to your braces and the pain subsides. Like the dental assistant told me, your braces will feel like normal in a week!

Your orthodontist SHOULD give you a list of foods you should avoid at all costs! There should be maannnnnyyy colours to choose from, so you just pick when you get there. You get to change your colours every appointment. Try researching more on the internet by simply typing in "braces" in google! You should recieve way more info then what we are giving you now, and it will be more in depth.

    Hopefully I helped you!

  2. it doesn't hurt when you get them put on but a few days after it will because it is going to move your teeth, don't worry it's not too bad!  No gum chewing, or anything that is sticky like taffy or candy, corn on the cob doesn't go over so great either and just make sure to brush at least two times a day to keep your teeth and braces clean! You can buy rubberbands that are multi colored or just get clear ones so you can choose :)

  3. lol! Braces!

loll, after you get them on, it's slightly difficult to talk, but that clears up quick. It doesn' hurt right away, just an hour or so onwards for about 3-4 days until the pain is all gone.

The first and 2nd day is c**p.

You can barely touch your teeth together without it hurting and chewing is out of the question!

Flossing is a pain. You can't exactly eat hard stuff (not good for moving teeth?) and no sticky gums/caramels that could stick and pop brackets off.

Besides that, you don't notice them at all!

Your mouth does look slightly bigger and your smile might look too big for you face, but it's just temporary.

    HAVE FUN! XD

  4. It will hurt the first days but then they will come a part of you. You will need to get use to it and have less gum.

  5. Well

I first got braces when I was 12, which was over 6 years ago. So my memory may be bleak.

In the beginning, it was honestly a horrible experience. The first few days are the worst, your mouth will constantly ache non-stop. So that week when you get em put on, ur best bet would be to eat soup, yogurt, or whatever doesnt require any chewing. I remember being so pissed off, and yelling at the top of my lungs due to the discomfort in the car ride home.

Theyre going to give you like a list of c**p you cannot eat, but no one gave a c**p about it. I ate what I wanted, no problem. Although corn on the cob is probably the worst as far as getting stuck in between the braces.

uhm, yea so Braces do suck. Have fun

  6. Your month is sore at first and they will cut the sides of your month use the wax and that will help. Don't be scared if it was so bad nobody would do it. You will be fine. Also keep them clean.

The color is up to you, you get to change colors often. But I don't like black it makes your lteeth look like they are rotting.

  7. well lets see...

first when you go to get them, they take your spacers off.

they put this thing to really stretch your mouth, so wear CHAPSTICK before you go!!

    then they clean your teeth.

    then they dry them.

    then they put glue.

    then the bracket.

then they dry it (blue light)

    then the wires.

    and thats pretty much it!

im getting mine next week. im so excited!!

so idk about the pain, sorry!

but i have been researching for one year and i know a lot about them. so i will round the pain to 6/10 while having them at first. but getting them on 0/10.

colors are all really up to you.

    i recommend light colors.

because dark colors look weird from far away.

red makes it look like you're bleeding.

yellow makes your teeth look dirty.

white makes your teeth look dirty, too.

don't get white or clear because if you eat like, ketchup, it will stain... eww!

    do's & dont's.

    do brush carefully

    do floss

do wear chapstick before you go

do eat soft foods (see list below)

    dont brush roughly

    dont ignore flossing

    dont touch them too much

dont eat hard sticky foods (see list below)

    foods to eat & avoid

    eat-

    pudding

    ice cream

    yogurt

    soup

    apple sauce

mac and cheese (will prob be okay since it's soft)

    mashed potatoes

when i got 4 teeth pulled i ate this:

    get a banana (or more)

    put it in a bowl

    mash it up

    put sugar & cinnamon

    and mix it together

    it's SOO good!!

    avoid-

    jerky

    beef

    candy

    gum

    caramel (especially!)

    popcorn

apple skin (or any fruit skin)

    anything harmful to braces.

    REMEMBER!!:

IF A BRACKET BRAKES REMEMBER TO CALL YOUR ORTHODONTIST ASAP!!!!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  8. i've had braces, and it's not as bad as everyone says. of course it's differnt for everyone.

the only time that it can actually hurt is after you get them tightened. and it usually helps if you take tylenol or motrin. the one time that i actually was REALLY uncomfortable for me, was when they had to use this kind of band that stretched across all of my braces. this put a lot of pressure on my teeth. but it gets better after a few days.

you can pretty much eat as you did before. but try to avoid the stick stuff that can get stuck in there. if you are concerned that stuff is stuck inside your braces, use the tiny brushes that fit underneath your braces and you will be able to ply out the food.

make sure that when you brush your teeth, you try to get underneath the braces so when you get them off you don't have a teeth tan line (discolored where your braces were).

when i had braces i never got white rubber bands, just because i though they would make my teeth look more yellow.

    hope this helps!

  9. it hurts for a couple days you'll have to eat things like jello, pudding, ice cream and things in that catergory because your jaw will be to sore to chew anything but it'll be worth it in the end.
