  1. It's going to hurt for the first few days. Eat soft foods.

  2. okay. don't worry, it's okay. Your dentist will probably give you a list of foods of do's and don'ts. My braces are off in three weeks, *yahoo*

but anyone, take tylenol or motron, you WILL NEED IT.

It's like you're a horse with reings in your mouth, NOT COMBFORTABLE! the first night, i remember i cried, and i remember  just this awful pulling thing on my teeth. The first night is h**l, excusa maui for the expression. EXPECT A LOT OF PAIN THE FIRST WEEK or so.

  3. Well it's gonna hurt for the first week or so, eat mainly soft foods that you don't have to chew a lot. About every month you go to get them tightened but that doesn't really hurt unless you get springs or rubber bands or something. It's not that bad, they tell you everything  you need to know.

  4. basset pup said everything

but you cant drink soda and you CAN eat hard tacos

at first your teeth will be sore (and whenever you get them tightened) so you will have to eat soft food like ice cream, rice, mashed potatoes, soup, etc.

  5. i had braces bout a year ago. dont stress! i didnt even know they were on when they put them on!  your teeth do get really sore. not gonna lie. but yeah thats all i can tell you. dont eat starbursts, hard caramel or apples. i know you will want to do it just cuz they say dont...lol but really dont, because it breaks your braces off.

  6. it would really hurt the first few days.

i had soup for like 5 days.

at first it'll feel a little weird but it's worth it because you'll

    get your teeth straightened.

i just got it out and now i love my teeth!

  7. They'll hurt for the first few days, so stick to foods you don't really have to chew. I used to put pizza and ketchup in the blender...so good!

Make sure you brush really well, get underneath the wires and everything.

Be careful about touching your mouth when you're wearing stretchy clothes. I got my sweater stuck one time!

  8. Take Tylenol when you need it. It helps a lot. Make sure you eat soft foods for a little bit until they stop hurting. I have them too and I eat lots of soup and noodles when I get them tightened. Good Luck!!

  9. People will tell you that it hurts. but then the first hour that you have them, they dont hurt that much. but after a few hours they hurt like c**p. make a milkshake or a smoothie. they are cold and kinda numb your teeth, and it wont hurt  like chewing does. For the first week, it will hurt. then you will get used to it.

  10. Eat Soft Foods, Like:

    Bananas, Mashed Potatoes, Soup

For the First Week or Two.

Eat a Good Meal that will keep you Filled for the Entire Process, don't skip breakfeast if you get them in the morining, you will be starving!

Sorry to break the bad news, they Will hurt for the first 2 weeks at most of having them.

Listen to there Intructions, dont drink sugar filled soda (diet is fine), no Gum, Dont eat popcorn!!! The Braces could fall off Easily.

  11. at first it will hurt and you might that your teeth are coming out but they're actually moving and being pushed back. foods you can eat are apple sauce, pudding like substances and very mushy or soft foods like soups , stews, chili etc. stuff you shouldn't eat are gum , nuts and hard stuff like jawbreakers and gummy/ sticky candies because they will break the  and rubber-bands. you should get light colours like pink or yellow and definitely not WHITE!!! they will change colours if eat curries and things like that.

  12. Getting the braces doesn't hurt at all, in fact it doesn't hurt the first hour or two. But after a while you teeth begin to feel the pressure & the pain starts coming more. It will be a little hard to eat the first couple of days, so eat soft food. Take tioneyll , or any pain killer if it gets really bad. But after a couple of days, you'll hardley remember you have them. Be sure to brush them like twice a day. And floss once in a while to make sure all the food gets out. Oh and make sure you get WAX, just incase the braces start cutting your mouth.

Braces aren't really that bad. It's fun, you get to change colours every month & what not ;) And it is well worth it for perfect teeth

    all the best

    :)

  13. Well, getting your braces on doesn't hurt at all. It's the after pain. I made the mistake of eating a McDonalds cheeseburger (even though there really soft) you still can't eat them. It broke like all my brackets. So just eat yogurt, ice cream, jello, && sorbet. Anything soft. The first months of having my braces i was always breaking brackets then after awhile there just so stuck there that it's hard to break them.

  14. where i went they had like pumice toothpaste and they cleaned ur teeth with that then they like put cement on them and put the brackets on and then the o rings

for me the 1st 2days hurt the most probably a 6/10

i ate nothing but they suggested applesauce, buttered noodles, soup stuff along that line

  15. they will tell you what to eat and not they will hand you a little guide slip..it will hurt getting them on tho

    but here is some info:

    Sweets You CAN Eat :

    Apples (cut up)

    Bananas

    Brownies (no nuts!)

    Grapes

    Hershey Bars (milk chocolate-no nuts!)

    Hershey Hugs (no nuts!)

    Hershey Kisses (no nuts!)

    Kit Kats

    Krackel Bars

    M & M’s (plain)

    Marshmallows

    Mounds

    Oranges

    Pears

    Peanut Butter M & M’s

    Peppermint Patties

    Pixie Stix

    Raisins

    Raisinettes

    Reese's Fast Break

    Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

    Reese’s Pieces

    Soft Cookies

Sweets (cut down or avoid eating foods high in sugar content. It is better to eat sweet foods as a dessert rather than as a between-meal-snack. Brush your teeth immediately after eating any food. IF you cannot brush after eating, then rinse your mouth thoroughly with clear water.)

These may be eaten if cut into small pieces:  Apples, carrots (slice into strips), tough meat, French bread, pizza crust, bagels, and croutons.

    Three Musketeers (not frozen)

What NOT To Eat:  Anything sticky or hard, such as

    Bubble gum or Chewing gum

Corn-on-the-cob (corn should be sliced off the cob)

Doritos, Corn Chips, hard tacos, nuts, nachos, etc

Hard Candy ( peanut brittle, Jolly Ranchers, Lollipops, Lifesavers, etc)

    Ice (do not chew ice)

Popcorn (outer shell may lodge under your gum and be held by your braces, causing irritation or infection)

Sticky candy (caramel, taffy, Now & Laters, Gummybears, Tootsie Rolls, Snicker bars, etc)

Hard or sticky foods may bend, break, or loosen your braces and archwires. In addition, you must be more careful when biting or chewing any food to avoid damage. Damage to your braces makes treatment take longer than it should and makes it more difficult for us to achieve the best possible result for you.

  16. for the 1st day or so eat soft and brush!!! i have them. they dont hurt and they sure take a while to get used to!! i had mine since feb and i barely notice them now!!!! the only thing that bothers me is gettin a thicker wire. make sure (if you get colors) to get them that they go wit your eyes and they dont make your teeth all yellow and brown looking. use wax if you need 2!!!!!

  17. It would feel REALLY weird at first and there's a tightening feel whenever you change a band or rubber bands (you'll know what I mean).

As for food, they will tell you to avoid gum and beef jerky, etc, but I ate everything while I had braces. You just have to be extra carefu

Always floss. It's harder when you have braces, but I found that if I don't floss, my gums start to bleed after a while.

That's about all the advice I have.  Don't worry too much about it. Having braces doesn't mean to not show your teeth when you smile. Be natural and know that in a few months or years, you'll have that perfect smile that's everyone envies.

    Good luck!
