I'm getting braces!!

Question

I get my top braces put on sept. 3rd then the bottom like a month or so later.I have to wear them for 23 months. What can I expect when getting them on and what color should I get. I'm 20 and I dont want any bright colors I want something that will kind of blend in. And I have a 3mm gap....how long do yall think it will take to close up?

i think you should get white 1s but i dot know how long the gap will take. soz man

Well, lets just put it this way, your gonna lose some weight in the first week. Your teeth will ache and be sore for a week. But the pain goes away after that. If your like me and get 6 week checkups and get them retighten that hurts pretty bad but not as bad as first time. Elastics also suck severely, but I recommend wearing them thats ussually at the end of the braces though. It feels really weird. You get alot of food stuck in there. And it feels weird to have in there. Always brush after you eat! And thats pretty much it. BTW Im 20 also, just turned!

I am 26 and got braces about six months ago.  Well when they put them on, it feels soooo werid! I felt like I had some type of metal gear in my mouth! it was nuts!  I was also very sore for about one week, they said a couple of days....they lied! The first day or two the pain isn't that bad, its more on the third day.  I also had gaps in my teeth, and they did not take that long to close up, maybe a month.  I just got plain silver, and they look fine to me!  Good Luck

well i got braces a couple months ago and then after about two months they created a gap. So the next time i went to the orthodontist they put on the chain rubber band thing and the gap closed in about a week. btw silver is the most discreet color.
