I'm getting guinea pigs soon...?

Question

should i get 2 of everything...i know they need 2 hideaways one for each but what about food bowls and water bottles and other stuff?

They should share the food and water bowls but if they start to fight then get another. When I had two guinea pigs they loved each other and shared EVERYTHING even the igloo that only held one guinea pig! You should be fine....

Getting two hideways would be a good thing to do, you may be able to remove one when they get used to eachother, but they have fun running in and out of things.  You shouldn't have to get two food bowls or water bottles.  Have plenty of toys and things they can chew on, like timothy hay or anything safe for them.

I'd get 2 pigs same s*x one igloo one large ceramic bowl so they can have dinner together, it is a bonding thing, one water bottle and one plastic large sterilite container 3feet by 18 inches.  (walmart sells them for 12$.  If you get 2 igloos they will part with each other and become territorial this makes them share.  Comming from a breeder and long time lover of piggers.

ok make sure they were raised together otherwise they will most likely fight if they were raised together u should have no problems with them just get one food bowl and water bottle hope i helped!and if theyre a boy and a girl u may end up having babbies;)

its fine to have the same bowls for water and food. also for shelters. But do not get two male guinea pigs, they will fight. get two female guinea pigs. also get allot of chew toys to keep themselves occupied. also feed a little bit of ruffige (hay,alfalfa etc) to prevent them from getting the runs (diarriea) also if you have left over greens (except head lettuce, beets and cauliflower) you can give those to them too. Happy Guinea pig buying!

1 hideaway is fine...i really wanted to answers this to tell you not to use any kind of wood chip bedding. I don't know if you already know this but it kills them. It gives them an upper respiatory infection and a number of other illnesses!

Two hideaways are the only 'must' but it is smart to get two water bottles and food bowls. If you get two males, you have to have two of EVERYTHING, and with two females they would prefer their own.

Another nice thing is having three hidey huts, one for each and then a larger one if they want to cuddle. It's like mutual ground. Plus, guinea pigs like things to climb in, on and around so it would be nice to have an extra toy.

Just make sure they have enough space and they'll be fine.
