I was thinking this fall or Christmas, but since our wedding is in the summer, should we wait until next Spring???

  1. Anytime is good.  But a suggestion- since you are doing your wedding in the summer of next year, you can kill two birds with one stone. Take your pics around the holidays and you can give you family and friends Holiday Cards with the engagement pics on them AND they can also serve as the save the date cards which are traditionally given 6 months-1 year before the wedding. Good luck =)

  2. Anytime or season that fits your personalities best :)

  3. We did ours with the photographer that did our wedding.  I would recommend waiting a bit.  I was able to use our engagement photos as a test run.  I had my hair and make-up done by the people I wanted to use for the wedding to see how everything would photograph.

I think waiting will allow you to have a better idea of how things will look in a situation similiar to that of your wedding.  We used a park (did not do ANY indoor posed photos-I hate that look) and many of our wedding pictures were taken outside as well.  Because of that I really did like the fact that we got to see how our wedding pics would turn out.

If you did them in a different season, you wouldn't have a clear idea of the true results.

So, unless you are doing indoor posed photo's, I'd wait until two-three months before the wedding.

  4. hi i am getting married on august 29, 2009 and i am taking my pics on september 2008

  5. honestly unless you dont have to worry about money too much. I say dont take them at all.  If youve been together long for a while im sure you have enough pictures that are probably better.  Its a waste of money especially for something that usually comes out looking more like the highschool PDA Pictures. They look so fake. If you want something to use as part of your wedding then look through pice you already have or try to just take more over the next year. I promise you theyll be more interesting to prople, have more of a story, and def be cheaper than buying matching outfits and paying a photographer.

  6. any time you are ready...

  7. Technically you can take your engagement photos as soon as you get engaged, so whenever you want to take them is fine.  My fiance and I don't plan to put an announcement in the paper or anything, but we did have my mom's BF take some photos of us that could be considered "engagement photos," which we're going to use in our invitations that have a photo background.  We got engaged on New Year's 2008, and we took the photos in May, because we happened to find a really cute spot with lots of tulips for a fun, colorful background.  Our wedding's not until September '09, but I figure we won't change much in appearance by then, so who cares?  : )  (If one or both of us does happen to change anything about our appearance, or if we just happen to take a pic we like better, we'll just use that one instead.  No big deal.)

  8. Fall or Christmas would be pretty, especially if that's when you want! We're going to have pictures taken in the fall with all the leaves and stuff and also in the winter when it snows... (I have a friend who is a photographer)
