  1. Ah I am sorry I never HEARD of giving your parents presents.

That isn't what they are there for.. I never gave my folks anything.

Is this some new tradition of people with money?

Your money is going into the wedding not gifts.

  2. I got my parents a pair of champagne flutes engraved with our names and wedding date.

  3. I would give them all an engraved picture frame that they can put the "official" wedding photo in once you get the images back from the photographer.

  4. Is every parent contributing to the wedding?  Then forget about giving them a gift.  If no one is contributing, or just one side is, a gift is not neccesary. That is the proper etiquette.

If everyone IS contributing, then the suggestions by the other posters are good ones.

If you feel you HAVE to give a gift, regardless of who paid for what, get a nice frame, and promise a beautiful photo when they come in.  Whether it's of the happy couple, the whole family, or of the parents by themselves.

  5. I THINK IF U HAVE OLD COLLECTION SWEET MEMORIES  OF YOUR FAMILY WHEN YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER STAY WITH EACH OTHER, U SHOULD COLLECTE AND  GIVE NEW LOOK, PHOTOE FRAME, CD  ETC. THIS KIND OF GIFT WILL BE MEMORABLE AND HELP TO COME NEAR TO YOUR FAMILY AGAIN.

  6. You could get them all sterling silver picture frames from a store like Things Remembered.

  7. My husband gave my mother a keepsake hanker-chief that had, "Thank you for raising the woman of my dreams" and I gave his mom the same thing only hers said, "Thank you for raising the man of my dreams"  They were embroidered in our wedding color.  It was so sweet, and they really liked them.  I got the idea from the lady that did my alterations!

  8. You don't give your parents presents.  I never heard of such a thing.  No one does that.  You should get a gift for your groom and for the bridal party but not for your parents.

  9. For our wedding we gave our parents a photo album that was engraved  and after the wedding we filled it with photos from the day that they picked out.  They all really enjoyed it since it was something they can bring and show other family memebers and friends that wanted to see pictures.  I hope this helps good luck and congratulations

Oh we are last minute people and you can get it done at things remembered in just about an hour!!!

  10. Yeah I would get them something not wedding-related.  Gift cards to restaurants would be a great one...it doesn't have to be anything expensive, just the gesture is nice.  Bake them something, send them flowers, have them over for dinner.

  11. We just went to Target and bought nice 8X10 picture frames and put in one of our engagement pictures.  We figured they could display it longer than a picture from the wedding.

  12. We got his parents a blanket from ThingsRemembered.com.  It had a tree stitched on it and we had his immediate family members' names stitched on a branch.  His parents loved it.  Check out that website, they specialize in stuff like that.

  13. I've not heard of giving parents a wedding gift. I like the picture frame idea though, so they can put your wedding picture in it.

  14. My friend just got married last week and she gave her father in-law a watch, her mother in-law a necklace, her dad a St. Christopher necklace, and her mom a bracelet.  I hope this helps.  My husband and I gave our parents perfume and cologne.

  15. Actually we did not give our parents gifs. This because our parents insisted onus not to do so, We gave our actual bridal party gifts for our wedding this past June but not the parents.

  16. You don't have to get them gifts, but a good idea might be a gift certificate for a home decor store, or a restaurant.

  17. I would get the gift cards to some place to eat that they like.  They might need a nice relaxing evening after the hussle and bussle of the wedding.

  18. how about something engraved from things remembered. pic frames with a wedding pic in it. Roses for the moms.
