We are getting married at 10am and it's just the two of us (no guests), we don't know what to do after the wedding. I was thinking maybe we get some fancy food & champagne and have a picnic somewhere secluded. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

  1. my new husband and I had a fantastic wedding just the two of us and it was so much fun! I think it would be really romantic having a champagne picnic beside a lake both of you still dressed in your wedding attire it sounds completely perfect you cant really beat that idea to be honest! have a fantastic day I hope you both have great weather and wish you both happiness now and in the furture! Gilly x

  2. HI =D

My husband and I got married at the courthouse (for now until we can afford a wedding) and afterwards we had lunch at like, Ihop or something and then we packed up and took a weekend trip. Nothing expensive, and definitely last minute. We just ended up going to a Bed & breakfast in Michigan (about 4hours away) and it wasn't very expensive (only the room was sorta expensive but his parents paid for that) so maybe you guys could do something like that. We went to the beach and the harbor and walked around a cute little town and ate. Our room had a jacuzzi so we watched movies and ate cookies (weird  i know) in the jacuzzi.

Otherwise, if you have a favorite place (restaurant,  park, theather..) or a first date place (where ever you went on your first date) you could go there. Do something fun that you both will enjoy (maybe even mini golfing...idk!)

    Congratulations on getting married =)

  3. A nice brunch/lunch afterwards... before you head back to the hotel... for.. you know. ;)

Check out the lake cruises. Many companies will provide a fancy meal. It can be just the 2 of you (and the crew of course) and is a super romantic way to experience Lake Tahoe in all it's beauty.

Or take the gondola to the top of Heavenly and have a picnic up there. Full views of the lake and the ride is kinda fun.

  4. I live in the area and I would suggest a couple places. For dinner I would suggest Friday's Station at Harveys. It's a wonderful restaurant at the top of the casino and has a panoramic view of the area, including the lake. If you make dinner reservations, ask the maitre'd for a booth table around sunset, and you will be in for a fantastic, beautiful view while you dine. The food there is exquisite as well. When I went I had a generously portioned plate of filet mignon, snow crab, asparagus and potatoes! It was delicious. For recreation I would suggest the gondola at the Heavenly village. They are open year around, and offer beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. Also when you get up there, there are a number of shops and places to eat to pass the time. For a beach, I would recommend Zepyher Cove if you want to go where all the locals go. It's a younger crowd and during the summer they have a lot of events geared towards them. For a more secluded beach, but is not off the Tahoe strip, I would suggest Sand Harbor. It has a lot of areas where you and your husband can be alone, and also has a lot of trails with information posts sharing facts about the lake and area. During the summer, Sand Harbor also hosts a number of outdoor plays and musicals. There are a number of shakespeare and novel inspired plays that show all summer. The venue is great, there is great food and drinks available, and you can even get VIP seating and get food and beverage service without leaving your cushioned chair! This is what I would suggest. If you have any additional questions, just let me know!

  5. A picnic sounds nice :) If you are getting married by the lake, why not take the picnic out on a boat in the middle of the water so you can be all secluded, just you are your hubby, and then you can spend some time together and chill out!

  6. Harrahs has an awesome buffet!  lol  Tahoe is so beautiful.  I'd drive around the lake, towards the south-west side there is a place vikings (viking helm?) something (sorry I cant remember the name), it would be a nice place for a picnic.

Edit--  I forgot, if the Heavenly ski lifts are running, take them up.  You will get amazing views and at the top there are places to relax and be alone.
