I am not sure what you mean by "creative dress" you should define it by example.  BUT, in most cases the clothes that people, wear in transit to the cruise ship will be the ones that they have to wear for a good while when they get on ship. So if you are meaning to get married the first day of your cruise you will really put a strain on people to come from home dressed for your wedding.  In addition, some people may have to wait a short while for their cabin (most times they are ready by 1:00 to 1:30 PM but sometimes not) and thus cannot even change clothes if they bring them on board with them.  Then there is the matter of makeup for women which may be a big problem if luggage is not available.

If these people are all your relatives and friends, be nice to them.  Besides they are probably paying a lot to cruise with you.

First of all, congratulations!

I got married on a cruise ship (it was amazing) and dress code was actually the one thing people asked me about the most.  Everyone wants to be appropriate and respect your special day, so they will wear what you tell them.

So just be sure to explain what you mean.  Otherwise people could show up in moose hats and French maid uniforms.  =)
