I'm getting ready to fill my in-ground pool back up. My water is irony. Any suggestions?

My main drain has been capped so I'm only going off my skimmer which means I can't filtrate my water until the water comes up to the skimmer level. In the meantime, the water deposits a good bit of iron into the pool. I try putting a towel at the end of the hose but that doesn't do much good. Any suggestions?

at a pool trade show,I saw a product that attached to the end of your water hose that was made for that problem....after you fill pool,you discard the filter.

The only really good solution would be a water softener, which would probably go about $300 - $400.  Sorry.
