I'm getting ready to substitute an early childhood class today for the first time. Any tips or suggestions?

I'm kind of nervous, I usually sub in middle schools. Any suggestions or tips would be really helpful!

Just have Patience, have fun, and be assertive. They are usually fun and can alot to handle but tons fun

well you're probably already on your way to school by now but just follow the lesson plans - remember they are much younger than middle school and have very short attention spans.  You need to do a stand up activity after every sit down activity - allow a lot of free choice time and enjoy them.

the best advise I have ever received while being a kindergarten subsitute, and since then it became my "moto" is this:

Go to the class with one main target in your mind, and -make sure it's on- the mind of those around you:

"we are ALL going to have a nice time together today"...

make sure that happens for ALL of you there: the children, and the rest of the teachers, the parents, everybody! and it will all be fine...
