I'm getting super aggravated. My period was 13-17. I started to test w/ ovulation tests on the 19th of July which was my cycle day 7. Well with the advice from my OB we started to b'dance that day also. My cycles have been a little longer and so I'm not sure when I ovulate. I got my first faint positive on cycle day 16 which was the 28th this happened the next day. Well cycle day 18 I got the dark positive where I would have been most fertile. Same for the next day. Well I figured that I was done so I didn't test the next day. Well today I had a feeling i should test and it was positive still. On cycle day 21 which is today. The tests are in order from cycle day 16-21 (w/ exception of 20) - http://i33.tinypic.com/ev5cao.jpg

Are all of these positive?(The box says a positive is when the line on the left is the same color or darker then the line on the right.) And if they are what could cause this?

My friend says it may mean that I ovulated twice this months. But it would have to have been one after another..

Please tell me what you think and no stupid comments please.

  1. possibly could be you have high levels of LH. LH is not a hormone associated with pregnancy, just ovulation. Take an HcG test (Hpt) to see if you are pregnant. but ovulation kits can't tell you that.

  2. If it was me I would buy a more expensive test or go to a health department and have them do a blood test to see accurately if you are pregnant or not, Trust me they don't let anyone else know that you are pregnant or not. It is confidential to you and only you. So to be sure go do that. They might charge a little for the test but at least it would be worth it. I go to the health department every 3 months for Birth Control and mine is free but I have Medicaid. Just to be on the safe side I would go. Hope everything works out for the best.

  3. I think the only way to find out is a blood test hun. I dont understand OPK's.

The doctor should be able to see if your ovulating or if you ovulated twice. There is a hormone you may be producing too much of but i cant remember what it called :$ Sorry.

  4. I looked at your tests and I can tell you from experience that I don't like those kind. I ordered them myself because they are cheap but they are extremely difficult to read. OPKs are not like pregnancy tests - there is no faint positive. If the line is not darker than the control line, its a negative result. So most likely, only one or two of your tests are actually positive. I'm not a doctor so I don't know about the possibility of ovulating twice but I guess its possible.

Are you charting your temps? That will help you figure out the day you actually ovulated. I will tell you that I am having trouble with the whole OPK and charting experience. Today my temp rose but I got my first positive OPK, so that doesn't make sense. Also, I've read there are differences in the different tests. I never got any positives with the cheapie tests so this month I shelled out the big bucks for the ones with the Smilies - and got my first positive. I just read though that that brand has been known to give you a smilie - when ovulation has just occured - so too late. So I'm clueless. My doctor told me to forget about those tests, they are a waste of money. Depending on your age and how long you've been trying, you may want to consult your doctor. Otherwise, as funny as it sounds, I would "you know what" everyday or every other day until you know for sure the ovulation is passed. Thats what worked for women in the old days, before we went around blowing money on these tests.
