I'm getting some Fancy rats, cage size?

Question

How many fancy rats can I keep in a modified plastic tub that is 28" long and 16" wide and 16" tall. Plus I have toys and stuff in there.

i would say one, maybe two, but probably one

know that the rat will probably be able to get out of a plastic bin by jumping or chewing

I would say only about 2 rats.

[and btw, you MUST cover the top of the tub. Rat's can jump about 3 feet up in the air. I would suggest just buying a cage if you aren't willing to cover it.]
