I have to get them next week and then the week after that I have to get braces. Do spacers hurt? Does everybody who are getting braces have to get those too? What are they? If you have further information about spacers or braces, it would be great if you could inform me. Thank you! :D

  1. from what I have heard they only hurt if your teeth are really crowded. I'm scared to get spacers since my teeth are really crowded. but you should be fine if your teeth are normal unlike mine lol.

    hope it helped!

  2. Yes, spacers hurt! I had to have them before I got my braces put on. Most people who get braces have to have spacers first. They are little rubber circles that your dentist puts between each tooth. Some people only have them put between their back teeth while others have them put between all their teeth.

  3. spacers are little plastic circles that they put in between ur back teeth and yes they hurt a whole lot but all u have to do is take tylenol or ibueprofen before u get them put in

  4. I had to get those before getting braces

Theyre little blue things that go on your back teeth

They look like elastic bands thats are really tiny.

Everyone who gets braces with bands at the back has to get them because they space out your teeth so you have room for bands.

Spacers hurt a whole lot, they are the most painful process of braces, and youll probably only be able to eat soft foods for 3 or 4 days and then as soon as you get used to them BAM you got braces.

When I got spacers they only did the top to be nice (so I ate with the bottom), and now I am getitng my bottom spacers on in a few weekes. (I have top braces and have had them for a few months).

    Heres a picture of spacers

    and heres a braces diagram

And heres a really good picture of a spacer and a band in comparison, but really they takethe spacers out before they put on bands.

  5. It is just a little gel/glue type stuff that goes on the top of your teeth. I had to get them, but never had braces. Does not hurt at all, they just squeeze out some liquid stuff on your tooth. Not entirely sure what it does though, I don't remember.

  6. itty bitty rubber bands they put over your molars to space them apart from eachother. so when you get braces the metal can fit between them.

everyone gets them, cause if they didnt. the orthodontist would have a h**l of a time trying to slip a metal circle around your molars.

they dont hurt. maybe a little sensitive for an hour. mine weren't.

  7. Spacers are pieces of rubber (they look like tiny rubber bands) that go between your back teeth to create a space, so the orthodontist can place a metal ring on your four, back teeth (they will be the guide for your other teeth to align to it).

It's kind of hard to explain, but it'll make sense when the ortho. does that whole process.

For additional information, it will bug you for a while because it's creating a space between your teeth, but just bare with it and do not take them out. At one point, they will fall out because the gap will be big enough.

    Hope I helped. ;)
