  1. Everyone is different...

some people seem to get worse over time even though it technically isn't progressive..

some people have milder symptoms that wax and wane

some continue to work full time

    some apply for disability

  2. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and have managed my pain fairly well. I do not have the stiffness and my pain is worse at night, so my biggest complaint is lack of sleep.

Everyone is different. I have been able to avoid taking meds for mine, and I think that is always something you can shoot for. If you aren't already exercising, start right away in case your symptoms get worse. If you are already moving you may be able to stave off some of the more sever pain and stiffness related to fibro.

  3. In the long run your condition will depend on how responsive you are to your body. Fibromyalgia is not cureable but it is treatable. You need to pay attention to what triggers flare ups and avoid those things and also find what works for you to minimize the pain. It really is a game of trial and error but as long as you don't give up you can definitely lead a normal life. I have been living with fibro for over 5 years now and I continue to work full time and do my everyday activities with minimal discomfort.
