  1. I strongly recommend that you take the MSF course before getting your license.  You have to take a written test, and in some states, the MSF course will allow you to skip the riding test.  At 125cc, stay off the highways, you are too slow and light.

    Good luck, and ride safely!

  2. i have one in Belfast, i didn't need to do any kind of training, just needed a provisional licence. Its different laws in different countries and states/Provence's

  3. If you are in the US, it will be licensed the same as a motorcycle. Refer to your state's Department of Motor Vehicles for licensing laws. Taking the MSF course would also be a good idea, as the other poster recommends; I took it after 10 yrs of riding and still found it to be a good thing. For example, they taught me how to slam on both brakes without dumping the bike.

Gear: $80 helmet and $40 rain gear would be a good idea. Leather and jeans are recommended especially while you are getting used to it. Better to scratch up the helmet and leather than your flesh. First week, chances are good you will dump it, so practice at lower speeds on side streets with your gear on.

    And above all, have fun!

  4. You need a drivers license and a motorcycle endorsement. You need a helmet, gloves, boots and a jacket. Insurance is required, full coverage if yoiu finance. You need a willingness to get wet, dirty, bug splattered, cold etc.

Most mopeds are 49 cc.  Moped scooter thing? You don't know and your going to ride this thing  in front of a cement truck in traffic? Maybe you should get a car.

  5. Here's some info to help.

  6. You must have a Category A provisional on your licence.

You must undertake a C.B.T. (Compulsory Basic Training) course, before you ride on the road at all.

You must have insurance for the scooter.

If it's more than 3 years old, it must have a current M.O.T. certificate.

It must also have a valid tax disc.

It must display 'L' plates front and rear.

You cannot ride it on motorways, until you have passed your test.

You must wear an approved crash helmet whilst riding it.
