I'm giving my niece a shower(bridal), what is the alternative to playing games?

I'm not really into playing games and I'd like for it to be a more "grown-up" affair. Any suggestions?

Have everyone bring a family recipe (for the bride's side) and have everyone from the groom's side bring a favorite family recipe her Fi enjoyed from childhood.   Supply nice paper, fancy pens and markers.  Have them write the recipe onto scrap booking type paper and collect them.  Let everyone know that you'll be putting these recipes into a book for the bride.  That way, she can have all her family's favorite and traditional recipes and she'll have all her new husband favorite recipes and traditional family favs.
