I'm goin 2 Mexico on the 10th But Haven't Received my Passport! Can i Still Get In?

i applied 4 a passport on july 4th..it has not come yet!..i'm worried that the border patrol won't let me through. :(, can i still go 2 Mex? Any Proof that i do Have One But Has Not Come Yet?

Suppose they do let you into Mexico without a pasport.  How are you going to get back into USA.

If you're going by air then you'll need a passport.  By land or sea you can use your official birth certificate and US ID.  They aren't requiring the necessity of a passport by land and sea until 2009.

First, the border patrol isn't going to normally ask to see your documents going into Mexico. Mexico will check. The INM (Mexican Immigration) checkpoints overland are pretty lax. If you are driving, walking or bussing into Mexico be sure to ask for a 180 day tourist visa. The other posters are correct in that you need a passport to fly back from Mexico. You can still cross the land border till Jan. 2009. Mexico never changed it's laws, only the US. Be sure to take your state ID card/license, birth cert, and if you have another govt. ID I would take that too. Some examples that are accepted are: Native American ID card, Merchant Mariners Document (Can be used instead of a passport) military ID card etc.

As far as I know, they are still letting people travel to Mexico without a passport until next year.  Just make sure to take your drivers license and maybe your birth certificate.
