  2. It depends on the food you are bringing and the origin of the food.

    example: poultry is allowed unless it was raised in Saskatchewan as we had a bad bad case of Avian Flu, you must have proof of where the poultry came from with you to show the border agent if they ask.

    As for taking precooked food you will have to keep the packaging just in case they ask you for it. It is better to be safe and have it, altho normally all they do is make you throw it out.  Certain fruits and vegetables they will question the origin and could make you throw them out, but if you have the packaging or have kept the produce sticker  then you have proof.

    Failure to declare the food could net you a fine up to $10,000

    If you can you are better off to purchase and cook your food down there, I realize you are going only for a few days but it saves a lot of hassle!
