  1. a counselor is always an option. dont worry about what other people think if thats what youre thinking. it will be in your best interest to see one. every school should have one on campus and itll be completely anonimous. if thats not the right option for you to see one on campus go to one off, but honestly you should put whatever worries you have about 'shrinks' behind you and go see one if youd like to control this.

    best of luck to you

  2. I wonder why you can't talk to a "Shrink"?  Talking to a mental health professional is no different than talking to any other human being, except that they are trained to be good listeners.  What could it hurt.  If you don't like what they have to say you just excuse yourself and leave.  Lots of people talk to psychiatrists every day for all kinds of reasons and it really isn't shameful or frightening.    If you absolutely can't talk to a Dr. you might want to call a help line where you can speak anonymously to someone who can reassure you that your fright is manageable and not that uncommon.  Good luck and kudos for taking the first step.

  3. omgod ur me!!! seriously iam the exact same i hate it!! iam scared of losing the plot.

I find having a nap helps or watching a film also u may not want to hear this i din at first but iam learning to accept i cant control what happens and if something does happen i will deal with it.I make my boyf txt me like 9 times a day when hes driving iam so scared hel crash when i was in tunisa the phone rang in the middle of the night and i cudn answer it my boyf had to i cudn breath i was so afrais something happened at home and they din even have the hotel number!!

  4. I do the phone thing too. There has to be something bothering you to the point where you stopped taking care of yourself. Depression maybe? Depression would also cause you to not enjoy life, to not be happy. If you can't talk to a therapist at least talk to your doctor. Aren't you sick of feeling like that? You need to find out what is wrong so you can fix it and get your life back. You'll feel better if you get treatment.

  5. You sound like you have some symptoms of depression but because I don't know you I can't say for sure, but I was treated for it a few years ago and I experienced many of these feelings.  The best way to start feeling better is to talk to someone, it's hard - trust me - but it helps, it really helps.  Begin with knowing that the people you care about care about you even more.  If someone you loved felt the way you do, I'm sure you would do everything in your power to help them, so you need to treat yourself with that same care.  Look at this site, it has a few free numbers you can call which can be more comforting, since its anonymous.  Please know you can get through this...I did

  6. Firstly, we all dont like hearing bad news, no matter what time of day we hear it, however all of us will hear bad news at some time or other so what you need are strategies in order to deal with bad news when it happens.

I would turn the phone off in the middle of the night as that is the time when you should be sleeping, not talking on the phone.

Another thing is that if you always think of the worst case scenarios during the day then there is no way that you will feel safe or happy, so you need to channel your thoughts so that when the worst case scenarios appear you immediately think of a way to handle the situation as best you can.

Something bad will happen to people you care about, what they need from you at that time is your love and support, rather than your worrying about it happening 'sometime' in the future, so just relax and let those thoughts drop or imagine how you would handle the situation if it arose.

There are a lot of people in this world whose grades are D's, E's and F's.

  7. i think you really need to see a counsellor, check with your college to see if they have any free services available, this seems like a very serious issue, that should not go ignored

also ask yourself, what is it that made you suddenly paranoid and fearful? or has it always been like this

    good luck, and stay safe

  8. are you getting enough sleep? that can tend to make your mind wander. You sound like you need to talk to someone, if you want to get better.

  9. I had it explained to me by a major in the US Army before he deployed to iraq.. I asked him if he was scared. He said yes.. but that God is in controll of everything.. If God decides to take you home there is nothing you can do. wether iraq, driving to walmart. or at 101 years old... live a good life, work hard ,love your family, have great friends. travel, take it one day at a time... take a deep breath.. and realize there is only so much you can do.

  10. I had a simmilar problem, make sure you get enough rest during the day and sleep at least 8 hours at night. If you take on alot of caffiene then cut this down a bit and focus on the positive things in your life, and what you've got to look forward to in the future!
