  1. To be honest, none of the London airports are especially near or especially easy to get to.  Gatwick would definitely be the worst, but aside from that I think you should just choose based on flight times and prices.

    Heathrow is probably the furthest, but at least it's on the same tube line which may be convenient for you (even though the jouney would take an hour and a half!).

    London City could be okay, but of course there are only limited flights that go to and from there so it may not work for you.

    Luton and Stansted and near-ish, given that Southgate is in North London and they are located to the North and North East of London respectively.  In fact, if you don't need to rely on public transport then one of them would be your best option.  If you do need public transport however, they're not particularly convenient and in fact you may find that you have to go all the way into central London and then back out again.
