What will they measure? I know they'll measure the baby. I'm 28 weeks and I'm having this done due to health issues. Are there any important questions I should ask the technician or doctor once they've measured my little one?

  1. ask if there any concerns or abnormalities. Ask if the bones are developing correctly. Ask about the heart and brain. 4 heart chambers, brain is developed - no cysts etc.

They may even look at the organs you can ask about those. And the spinal cord. Ask what the heart rate of the baby is and if that's healthy.

not sure if they can tell this but ask about amniotic fluid and if you have a normal amt.

And of course any other questions about how you feel or baby movements you should be experiencing at this point.

  2. maybe the gender?!? =)   They will measure the head, femur bone, and abdomen... plug it into an equation... and there you have your babys weight!

You could ask how your placenta is looking... since it is the childs lifeline.

    CONGRATS!
