Hello,

I've already got confirmation of pregnancy, and now I have to go to the gynecologist to see how I'm doing.

I don't have insurance, and I really can't find a good estimate on how much it will cost.

Thanks!

  1. You poor thing. You need to get some help and quick - never mind what a checkup costs do you have any idea how much it will cost if you happen to need a c-section? Like 25,000 dollars. Get help now. Hopefully the US will get universal health care and pregnant ladies won't have to worry about money and can focus on their baby.

  2. If you don't have insurance it will be between $110-200 dollars. You should see about getting Medicaid or something.

  3. wow...if you're pregnant and you don't have any insurance...you better hurry and find some. Try going on www.i-am-pregnant.com. The women there can  help you find the website for maternity insurance (you fill it out online). I would say without insurance...about $175 (maybe more). I had insurance and my pregnancy STILL cost me $5000.00....GOOD LUCK!

  4. Wow, I'm shocked at how much prenatal care costs!  The girl from NY said 300 dollars just for the first visit?  Maybe I am glad I have universal health coverage here in Canada. My sister has had an "at risk" pregnancy which means she has been to the doctor more then the usual amount of times.   She hasn't paid a dime.

I'd get insurance if I were you.

  5. I'm from NY, and I recently received the bill for my first complete prenatal exam.  In total it's costing $3,000.  This includes the gynecological exam, blood work, etc.  I was shocked when I received the bill.  Depending on what state you're from there should be some assistance for paying medical bills for pregnant women.  Good luck!

  6. I don't know where you live but you should try to get on Healthy Start or something. It's free medical coverage for expectant mothers. The doctors visits are pretty expensive, upwards of $100 or more if you don't have insurance. I would look into some kind of help, Healthy Start is through Medicaid - so you should be able to find it pretty easy. It will also cover the costs of having the baby in a hospital and cover your baby after it is born, definitely worth it. If you can't find anything online, ask your OB they may have some info.

    Good luck!!

Also, having a baby in a hospital is around $10,000. So you really need to look into it. The sooner the better because it can take 4-6 weeks to get everything processed and get you fully covered. They should reimburse you any costs that you incur before the insurance goes into affect also.

  7. I know that ultrasounds are like $500 each.

  8. Its gonna cost around 160 or so

  9. u should get insurance right away dont you think... cuz having a baby in the hospital is a lot of money

  10. You need to get insurance unless you plan on paying about $30,000 for the entire pregnancy. Thank god I had it!

  11. Your doctors office would tell you what it would cost.  Call them
