they have a 2.5 engine not the 2.4 and a better transmission, they are more stylish, should I buy now or wait, what are the advantages of buying now?

Question, my bother in law is the general manager of 3 major dealers (American cars) he told me to go pick out a car and he will talk to the manager of the other dealers to get me the deal of my life, I asked what are the benefits of you helping me he said he would get me invoice pricing, do they do this amongst them? I'm sure they are in a network right?

  1. Ya I would wait for the 09. It's always a good idea to look into the future even in cars. Yeah, you might get an good deal on an 08, but you'll be stepping back in time imo & it's best to get the new style.

  2. I would go with the 08 if you can save a few thousand bucks on it

  3. God rewards Patience! and only a Fool would not let a family member attempt to bargain for the best deal but a lot of eventual price paid depends on (i) art of negotiation and what insiders you might know who would offer favor (ii) the demand for a particular hot vehicle that the sales person knows his manager will only go so low bec another willing buyer is right between you who doesn't care about price...rather say their ability to make the monthly payment (iii) if the body style for the 2009 is changing then getting a good deal and price on a discontinued style certainly gives the buyer the edge where maybe some are interested in good deals and others value the latest styling but ultimately you will have to live with whatever happens so it is best to reevaluate and reanalyzed your priorities and also make sure you tell your brother-in-law your COLOR choices as well as minimum required options...

    Hope the Above Info Helps!

  4. I would stay away of american cars/Suv's. You can get a Ford, Chevy on invoice pricing without any relatives help..They probably have huge rebates too.  The question is what do You want?? Saving a 1000 or 2000 or drive the vehicle you choose?? If You can afford, buy the 09 Rav4! I'm sure the 2.5 will be a better engine and it will be a better resale. If you sell it in 3 years, it will be 3 years old, not 4.. If you can afford it... If it does not matter what You drive, then go for the better deal...
