  1. Ordnungsamt!!!!! A department made to hand out tickets!!! lol... And ummmm cough cough. Much more liberal than the states???? WTF???? Thats bs . Please disregard those statements!! There are too many rules here. Ok, maybe they dont enforce them all but they are there!!!

  2. It depends.  If you want to walk the streets half naked with a beer in your hand--go for it!  Just don't get caught throwing your paper trash where your plastic trash is supposed to go!  Now, who's got the better laws? lol  The Germans definately know what they are doing!

  3. Not strict at all. Walk around naked if you want to. Then again, what is your idea of strict?

  4. How do you mean exactly?

German law is not too dissimilar to English law. Naturally, there are certain areas in which German law is tougher than English law; in other areas English law is tougher than German law.

Germany is a liberal country with freedom of speech and freedom of movement. Germany is also a full (and founding) member of the European Union. Federal law in Germany prohibits the death penalty.

Note that German law takes a hard line against controlled drugs. Even possession of cannabis can result in a heavy fine or imprisonment.

  5. Sort of

  6. For me as a woman from Berlin the laws don't seem to be strict.

You can drink alcohol in public (beer and wine from the age of 16; stronger stuff from the age of 18).

Smoking is allowed (from the age of 16) in a lot of public places like restaurants, pubs and discos. Most of the train stations are non-smoking areas. The smoking laws will be changed probably next year. Then it will be stricter (esp. for restaurants and pubs). But today you can look out for the non-smoking signs quite easily.

Drugs of any kind are forbidden, for sure.

Furthermore there's no point you should really pay attention. Generally Germany is a very liberal state with a lot of freedom. and if there are any problems, just ask for help.

In some parts of Berlin you should pay attention on criminalism. It's not very dangerous, but happens.

So have a great time in Berlin!

  7. hecks no iwas there 4 half of my life its tight but when you come back to the u.s. expect to be unhealthy

  8. You phrased this question really funny, what laws are you talking about?

Prostitution is legal, you can get registered for this job, you'll pay taxes.

You can drink until you drop if you are 18 years old.

In most cities they don't care if you take your top off in a public park.

You can not wash your car at the curb side.

You can not put your trash out as you like it.

You can not have a gun.

Your not allowed to kill, steal, mob, rape, kidnap.

    There is not death penalty.

So, what kind of laws are you talking about????????????

  9. very strict

  10. less strict than the US - Germany is pretty liberal these days.

  11. obviously some laws are stricter and some aren't as strict, environmentally speaking the laws are much more strict, but i think that for the msot part they are more lax than the U.S

  12. you have to pay to pee in a public restroom... LOL

  13. Strict about what???   Germany has very liberal laws, but our gun laws are very restrictive...

So, if you try to enter Germany with a gun, you surely might get lots of troubles at the airport! ;-))

If you want to drink alcohol or buy tobaccos, so you can do it at age 16 over here.   But, you can drive a car when you're at least 18 years old.  The legal age is 18 in Germany.

Unfortunately, you haven't written any details and I really don't know what you really mean with "strict".
