I'm going into my Freshman year...?

I'm really nervous, excited, but nervous. I want to know some things first. Do they mix all grades into the same Cafeteria? Like do Seniors sit with Freshman? My next question, do Seniors **** around with the Freshman a lot? I'm big (5'9" 175 pounds), but the seniors are a lot bigger. One last question, is school a lot harder? Are the tests a lot harder, do you get a lot more homework, etc.?

  1. 1.) If the cafeterias are mixed or not depends on your school. I've been to a few different high schools (moved states a lot) and most have tried to keep freshman together but it will still be fairly mixed. Especially after freshman year.

2.) Everyone likes to think seniors make it their mission to s***w with the freshman. That's really not the case. Sure there are some jerks that like to be jerks to everyone but they are in the VERY SMALL minority. Freshman are usually the least of Seniors concerns.

3.) Depending on the classes you are in the homework level changes. Like in jr high and elementary school some teachers are harder than others and some classes give more work. Over all they will be more challenging but you are smarter then you were in jr high, so you will be able to handle it.

  2. I think schools usually mix all grades together at lunches (Early and late). As for how upperclassmen treat freshmen, that really depends on your school and the kids that go there. But know that about 99% of the time it isnt as bad as movies and TV makes it out to be. And for schoolwork--It's not difficult if you pay attention and actually do it. Also, a tip; you should start out with Alegbra I. If you start off in Geometry and you dont understand it, it's only going to get more and more difficult.

It's going to be strange the first day, but it'll settle out Im sure. I started High school last month and Im already okay with it. The only thing that movies get right are the wacko teachers ;D

  3. tests/work- depends on how challenging your middle school was.  but honor/ap classes will be harder and more work and are time consuming if you are also in sports and clubs

some freshman sit with older grades but it really just depends on who you know and who you meet during the school year like in classes or clubs or sports

at my school all the grades are mixed together during lunch

  4. don't be so nervous just soak it all in cuz it goes by way too fast... and yes the grades are mixed in the cafeteria and (at my school at least) in gym too. tests/classes are harder, there's more work but honestly you have got to just expect that. and don't worry about the seniors, they don't care about the freshman, they'll probably just ignore you unless you p**s them off because like the other person said - everyone hates freshman

  5. ya they do mix ya'll at lunch but its not that bad

some seniors are gunna be ***** but u don't have anything to worry about, they wont even notice that you are a freshman

they tend to mess around with the smaller freshman and the nerdy ones

and ya the tests will be harder and there will be alot more homework but that just might be like that at my school because i got to a private college preparatory

  6. Okay, I've been in three different high school and have come to the conclusion that every one is different.

All the high schools I've attended had lunch periods divided arbitrarily. That is based on what class you're taking at around lunch time. My last high school had two lunch periods and were based in what building you were in during 5th period.

And some seniors actually do socialize with freshman (I was an example of this, yet I looked like an underclassmen regardless.) It just depends on who sees eye to eye with you- things like maturity and interests.

Another example: the state testing/standards in California are much easier than in the Midwest.

  7. The tests are harder, they do mix grades at lunch time, seniors don't F around with freshman, they hate freshman, everyone hates freshman.

  8. Yous should be prepared, while high school is harder, you learned everything you need to know about high School, in middle school. The cafeteria may or may not be mixed ( it most likely will be). Seniors don't tend to care to much about fish, They do tend to laugh about them, you should really watch out for sphomores, they have not gotten the fish thing out of there system yet. Seniors may be a bit bigger but, more than anything there just more mature.

    PS

    good luck
