I'm really excited to have an oceanview room but this is our first cruise. What things should we get out and see and if anyone has done this before what do you recommend?

  1. The Paradise is a really fun ship, my husband and I went on this boat 2 years ago for the 3 Day cruise to Ensenada and had a blast.

I would definately create an account on carnivals website and put my booking # in there and then you will be able to book shore excursions early. Most of the better shore excursions book up fast so it will be comforting knowing you booked yours months in advance!

Don't forget to budget for your onboard expenses that aern't included, alcohol, soda, gambling, souviniers. Also, don't forget that they will automatically add on $10.00 per day per person for gratuities.

The fun thing about cruises is you can be as involved as you want, or simply relax and do nothing!! Every night your room steward will put a carnival caper in your room that will list all of the next days activities, you can plan your day around activities that you want to do, or you can ignore them and do your own thing.

Ocean view room is cool, but you probably won't be spending too much time in your room as they are pretty small, you will want to be out on the top decks overlooking the ocean and taking in the fresh air.

I hope you have a lot of fun!!

  2. You're going to have a great time. I was very impressed with Carnival cruiselines (they tend to have a bad rep) and at dinner in the dining room you should definately order the Chocolate melting cake w/vanilla ice cream on the side! That is the yummiest dessert ever!

Order room service and remind yourself this is YOUR vacation, as long as it's legal, you can do it!
