  1. OMG I have so been there. i have been on like 6 cruises. the western carribean, lets see...

    Grand Caymen-

    Beginner's Scuba Diving

There's no better place for you to learn to scuba dive than the crystal waters off Grand Cayman

    Cozumel-

    Dolphin Encounter at Chankanaab Park

Take this opportunity to meet the bottle nosed dolphin, one of the ocean's most amazing creatures, up close and personal.

    Belize-

    Cave Tubing & Rainforest Exploration

Take the chance to observe the cave formations in limestone caverns that were formed before the dawn of mankind.

    Costa maya-

    Off-Road Jeep Tour

Hop on your 4x4 Jeep for an off road adventure through the jungle that ends at a beachside barbeque.

Hope you have a great time like i did!

  2. Cozmel is a great place to save money and NOT take an excursion. The town is super walking freindly, and there are tons of great stores, bars and resturaunts to check out.  There is also a state beach,Chankanaab Park,  that is great! You have to pay for a taxi ride and enterance, but the cruise line charges you twice as much for the exact same thing (transportation to the beach and enterance fee). If you wanted to do the dolphins or snorkeling there, you can always decide to, and book it right at the park, and you still will beat Carnival price.

We went shopping in am, lunch on the boat and all afternoon on the beach. Personally, I've been to Cozumel and Cancun 3 times each and I prefer Cozumel, and the ferry ride to Cancun is not much fun!

Belize, if you are adventurous, the river/jungle tubing trips are awesome!  My mother is a little bit of a scardy cat, so it was good we left her behind.  She and my sister in law did a snorkeling excurion they loved, but the rest of us loved the tubing.  Unlie anything you can do anywhere else!  Belize city was a little scary for walking around.

We did not go to Grand Caymen or Costa Masa.

Grand Caymen and Cozumel are both places you could get off the boat and find things to do if you do a little research on a cruise website, like cruisecritic.com. Save money! Don't pay extra for Carnival to do the work for you.  HOWEVER, I'd spend that money in Belize, to make sure I get what I paid for.  it's just a bit more shady there.

  3. You can find out the excursions by going onto Carnival Web Site.  They have a list with pricing and recommendation starr's next to each excursion.  The more starrs the better the excursion.  Hope that helps.   I am also going on a Western by Carnival and we also have Grand Cayman Cozumel and Ocio Rios.

  4. grand cayman sea turtle farm----Cozumel==old city of tulum on the main land==  Cozumel===shops and beach in town, hope the deck buffet is better than when i went on carnival few years ago, every thing else was good   have fun watch on board charges

  5. I did an excursion in Grand Cayman that was so neat- it was an underwater submarine tour- it was very cheap- and it only was about two hours long- plenty of time to see underwater and atill have a great lunch.  We ate at Breezes By the Bay- right on the main strip.  The best Chocolate Banana Daquari EVER!

We try not to do excursions as they are overpriced and you are herded like cattle- we like to get off the boat and explore ourselves.

Often you can grab a cab- a local cabbie and he will take you to the same place that the ship excursion goes to for 1/3 of the price.

In Belize- we did this- we got a cabbie to take us to the ruins- we had the entire place to ourself.  As we were leaving- the big buses were pulling in- our cabbie then took us to a rum factory and through various neighborhoods- he even took us to his friend's house where we had a great lunch.  (It cost us nothing extra- but we sure tipped VERY well)  We got to see a lot of local culture that we would have missed by taking a group excursion.

If you do this- ask to see the choking tree!  Plus it was easy to learn about Belize- as there were only a few of us with the cabbie and we asked a million questions.

In Cozumel- we got off the ship and shopped a little then went to Carlos and Charlies and had a blast!  I had a Mickey

Mouse water bottle holder and they eat up the Disney stuff!  I traded it to an employee and ended up with a T-shirt, a drink koozie, and a FREE tab for four of us!!!!!

  6. If you go to Carnival's website, you should be able to find excursions and get details about each one.  They break down the cost, level of activity, and how long each one is.  This is probably the best way to decide which on you want to do because you are able to compare them.

    Have a great time!

  7. I went on this exact cruise and I didn't go on any excursions.  We did take the excursion from Cozumel to Cancun to go shopping, but my excursions were pigging out on the Lido deck.
