I'm going on a holiday to Europe?

London for the creativity and music.

Scotland for the castle ruins and the beautiful scenery in general.

Switzerland for the scenery also.

Germany for (distant) family.

I'm pushing the parents for Norway, Sweden and Finland also.

I'm actually not too keep on Paris. But we're going anyway...

... More inclined to the picturesque natural kind of countries.

Any recommendations of where to go/what to do?

Particularly in Scotland :D I just want to go everywhere!

  1. That sounds wonderful!  If you are not keen on Paris, please try.  The people are not as rude as the stereotype would make you think.  They are quite nice if you are respectful of them and their culture.  A few words attempted in French goes a long way.  It's a breathtakingly beautiful city - especially at night.

Scotland is my favorite place and I am going there for 2 weeks myself this May.

Check out www.visitscotland.com for tourist attractions and places to stay.  Don't miss Edinburgh and Glasgow, but also get out to the country side - the Kingdom of Fife, the Highlands, perhaps a day trip out to the Isle of Skye.  Take driving tours into Argyll as well.  Maybe rent a boat off of Loch Fyne for a fishing trip (if you are into that sort of thing).  It's a great place and the people are a wonderful sarcastic bunch.

Try to stay in B&Bs.. B&B owners are a great source of information on how best to soak up local culture.
