ok, so in a couple of weeks i'm going on vacation to california with my brother. he's paying for all my foods and I don't want to be picky about where to eat, because he doesn't support me on being vegetarian and he'll get mad if I don't want to eat at the places we go. I'm not really worried about breakfast but lunch and dinner. we're gona be stoping at alot of fast food like mc donald's, burger king, wendy's, taco bell, etc. What do these places have to offer?

Also, what can I eat like at six flags, disneyland and all those amuzement parks? do they have any vegetarian foods?

And last, what do you recommend me to pack for lunch just incase there won't be any vegetarian food where we go?

thank you!

  1. McDonalds offers vegetarian salads and parfaits. If you're not a big fan of veggies try the Fruit and Walnut Salad or a parfait. Also, french fries!

Burger king has the BK Veggie Burger and I'm sure they offer salads, if not, ask for it without the chicken. Fries, onion rings...

Wendy's offers their baked potatoes, but i'm not sure their salads offer no chicken, so ask for it without. Again, fries.

Taco Bell has Mexican Rice, and bean and cheese products, with guacamole and stuff

I've never been to Six Flags or Disneyland [loser :p] so when you're packing your lunch, try whole grain bread with the following: mock turkey, veggies only or soy or veggie patties.

  2. For sure, Disneyland offers vegetarian choices in almost all of their quick bite eateries (look for the apple on their guide map for "healthy choices", but only Vegan in their sit down restaurants when you personally request no dairy and the such. I would think the other amusement parks work similar as that would be the smart choice with so many people watching their diets for health reasons. Burger King offers a veg burger, so if given the choice, choose there as often as possible! And almost all the sit down restaurants in California offer veg choices, even your steak places like outback! They may only be pasta dishes, but that is better than nothing! If you have the opportunity, try BJ's restaurant and brewery! They have a tasty spicy alfredo pasta dish that is so good I miss it bad! And to top it off, they have the pazookie which is a fresh baked cookie of your choice with your choice flavor ice cream on top! And don't forget, your salads can be made to order without chicken on top, but you pay the same price.

And because of allergies, you are allowed to bring small snacks into the parks, just not huge meals.

And it sounds like you'll be in Southern California, so check out the local Henry's grocer to stock up on a variety of veg choices.

  3. MC Donald's offer a veggie deli burger and fries they also do salads and a lot of desserts, not sure about the rest.

i would recommend you some times carry a packed lunch just in case, or just try and carry stuff with you like fruit salads chocolate .water and fruit juice just to keep you going.until you find somewhere that sales vegetarian food

  4. all fast food places offer salads and "healthy alternatives" such as yougurts and fruits, so im sure you will be fine staying away from meat.

  5. You can always find something to eat. Fast food places have salads, french fries, some have baked potatoes. Or get a cheese burger and hold the meat - almost like a cheese sandwich.

I don't know about Six Flags, but at Disneyland there are kiosks with fresh fruit and trail mix. The restaurants all have salads (just tell them to hold the meat), some have pasta or grilled cheese that they usually have on the kids menu, but they'll make for adults. There's a place by the Indiana Jones ride called Bengal BBQ - they have the best grilled veggie skewers and the Mexican place has bean & cheese burritos. You can also leave the park and walk to Downtown Disney with plenty of place to eat.

Every restaurant will accomodate your vegetarian lifestyle, just ask. You'll be fine.

  6. If you know the type of fast food places you're likely to stop at, then look them up online. They should all have their complete menus and nutritional information available on their websites--you could print out the menus/nutritional data and bring it with you. This way, you could even have some input in letting your brother know which fast food places you might prefer (if they're good with him).

In addition, amusement parks also list online the types of food choices offered within the park.

For lunch, you can't go wrong raw vegetables and fruit, or if you have access to a small cooler or insulated bag, bring hummus and crackers, etc.

  7. McDonalds has a garden salad and a fruit and walnut salad. There are also fruit parfaits that are good, and fries are always an option.

Wendy's has a side salad, veggie burgers, baked potatoes, a spring mix salad, and fries. There are good milk shakes and frosties there for dessert.

Burger King has a veggie burger, french fries and onion rings, and garden salads.

Taco bell has a good variety. They have a cheese roll up, which has three different cheeses melted in a tortilla, triple layer nachos, bean burritos, cheesy fiesta potatoes, mexican rice, and cinnamon twists.

Finally, chik-fil-a has tortilla strips, sunflower kernels, granola, carrot and raisin salad, cole slaw, fruit cups, waffle fries, side salads, and really good cheesecake.

I'm not sure about the amusement park thing. Usually they have some sort of salads, but there isn't that much you can do. Most amusement parks don't allow you to bring your own food for "safety" reasons, so check the website before you go. Otherwise, I would reccomend packing some sort of sandwich with fruit and veggies, and some granola bars or crackers. Hope this helps, and enjoy your vacay!

  8. I'd stock up on some granola bars for the trip just to be safe.

  9. okk well taco bell has a lot of bean tacos, bean burritoos..you can ask for almost anything without meat. wendys, burger king and mcdonalds dont reallly have to much, except lke fries and salads that you can say put no meat in them.

if you like peanutbutter and jelly...go to the store and get uncrustables (peanutbutteer and jelly premade sandwhiches with no crust)  you can carry those around with you...and you can carry around the litle carrot sticks w/ dip.

  10. If you still eat cheese - you can certainly find a lot to eat.  I know Wendy's has baked potatoes and side salads, Taco Bell you could have a cheese and bean taco, Burger King has veggie burgers I believe....McDonalds...you could get a salad without the meat.

Amusement Parks would be similar I'm sure.  Salads with no meat, veggie burgers......

Good luck and have fun!  I'm actually going to California in a few weeks to visit my brother too!  Fortunately, we're both vegans so food isn't an issue.  I'm sorry that your brother isn't more supportive.

  11. Just about every place you go, will offer the basic salad without meat or eggs.  I would go with something like that.

Wendy's offers a baked potato.  Taco bell has the supreme nacho's you can just ask them to hold the meat.

French Fries, Salads, apple pie, etc...good luck!

  12. i know mc donald's has salads and ice cream.

  13. all fast food joints have at lest one thing vegetarian. i have ordered McDonald snack wraps with no meat and plus they all have salads. burger king i believe carries veggie burgers (they might have taken it off the menu), they all have fries. you can get vegetarian tacos from taco bell too, and always remember, the menu isn't set in stone. you can always ask for a thing on the menu without meat.

and for a pack lunch i would bring fruit, a Pb&j, maybe a sandwich made from veggie ham/turkey/boloni slices.

    hope this helps! have fun!

  14. where im from mac d has a veg burger so im sure all shud have it.

pack in oranges, aples, health bars, water

  15. Disneyland has veggie food!  I was there last December, and was pleasantly surprised (I had a sandwich on me, just in case).  Taco Bell has veggie food, and it's a simple substitution to substitute beans for the meat.  I dunno about Mickey-D or burger king, but Wendy's has stuff.  Amusement parks usually have pasta that you can eat.  Del Taco also has veggie stuff.  My dad eats at El Pollo Loco to get the beans, rice, and cheese burrito (but the entire place smells, so the rest of us refuse to go there).  Carl's Junior is associated w/ The Green Burrito, so their enchilada plate should be veg-friendly (provided you're not vegan).

Honestly, the only place I've yet to make veggie is Arby's.  You just have to be creative, be up to bringing lots of snack foods (baby carrots, pb&j, junk food, granola, cereal), and be willing to ask for substitutions.

  16. im not sure if any of the places you have mentioned have vegetarian foods to offer. im sure that some of them have salads but you need more of a variety. you could pack bagels with peanut butter in a plastic bag. sandwiches are good too.
