Ok I like a lot of stuff. I have read twilight, harry potter, meg cabot, gemma doyle trilogy, and that kind of thing already. I like historical fiction, modern day fiction, fantasy, and i like books with a little romance in them. I like fairytale retellings too(haha i know dorky). I like books by robin mckinley(not sure how to spell it. Um I'm going in to 8th grade. Oh and I read some of the phillipa gregory books-the other boleyn girl etc and thought they were good. Thanks.

  1. I highly recommend the Gossip Girl series. It's messed up, scandelous love of the over privelidged. And yes there is tons of romance!

  2. Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins. A boy falls to an underground world and must complete a quest that will detemine life or death of 12 people.

The Naming (unknown author). About a slave girl who has a magical power and goes on a quest with a bard.

Eragon/Eldest by Christopher Paolini. About a boy and a dragon on a quest.

Any Sarah Dessen book! She's a great author that makes you connect to the character.

To Catch A Pirate (unknown author). A Pirate steals a girl's necklace while stealing her father's treasure, and as she goes on a quest to find the pirate, it looks like she has something else that the pirate will steal. Her heart.

  3. Teen Interest: Check out Gordon Korman.  I'd recommend Schooled, Born to Rock, and Son of the Mob.

Fairy tale:  Tithe, Wicked Lovely, Valiant

Fantasy: Eragon, Keys to the Kingdom Series,

Sarah Dessen is always good and one of me favorite books to recommend to 8th graders is Define Normal.

    Cheers

  4. Have you ever read Tamora Pierce? I read her books when I was your age. She has two fantasy worlds. I only read about one called Tortall. I think the other one is actually for younger readers. She usually writes books in quartets. So there's 4 books on a girl named Alanna, 4 books on a girl named Daine, and 4 books on a girl named Keladry. Alanna is a noble girl who has to pretend to be a boy in order to become a knight. She falls in love with the crown prince and he with her, and there's definitely some drama there...and then another guy falls in love with her too...all in all, deeply fun, although the first book in the Alanna series starts off a little simple, like for 9 or 10 year olds. A bunch of people try to overtake the kingdom and she has to stop it. The Daine books come around when Alanna is around 30, and are about a very different girl. She has an ability to talk to animals, and she can use them as spies in times of war. She helps to save the kingdom too. Keladry comes around when Alanna is about 40. She benefits from Alanna's knighthood, because now girls can become knights, but she's the first girl to actually do so, and faces lots of hazing and unfairness from the guys.

Oh yea, there's lots of magic and fighting and monsters and gods and goddesses. It's pretty cool.

This is probably too easy for you, more like 5th or 6th grade level, but Ella Enchanted is a really good book. Books by Gregory Maguire are really fun too, such as Wicked. I would definitely recommend Wicked. (I saw the musical too in LA, and even though it has barely anything to do with the book, I would recommend that too.)

I love to read. I'm a freakin' nerd. Let me know if you need more help.
