Ok well I'm snowboarding tomorrow and I'm trying to start snowboarding but I don't know how to snowboard. Also I think it's to late to set up lessons and the slopes are 1 hour away from me.

Any tips?

  1. ok i went snwboarding this week and i didnt need a helmet the way to get up to me is to once when u put on the board start to go in a baby crawl position and dig ur toes into the snow and get up u will start to go automatically dont have the board exactly  parallel like this |  kinda have it at a slant like this \ so u dont fall as hard to stop lean back and put weight on your heels and try to stay standing. i prefure u use a ski lift dont just walk up the hill

  2. If you know how to ride a skateboard, then you wouldn't all as much. you could set up lessons if you go to the snow area. You don't need to set up lessons before you get to the snow. You should have arm ad legs pads and also rent a helmet. Snowboarding is more dangerous than skiing so you should watch out where you are snowboarding. You should practice a bit on flat surface before you go onto the slopes.

  3. It's probably not too late to get a lesson.  Although the mountains prefer that you book in advance you can often be squeezed in day-of.  Make sure you get there a bit early.

I'm sure that the mountain would prefer that you have a lesson than you be out there falling all over the place and hurting yourself and perhaps others.

  4. I remember my first time snowboarding. I seriously recommend a helmet. You'll fall a lot. No offense, everyone does. It really does help to get lessons, maybe its not too late to sign up? One last thing, stick to bunny hill, it pays to be patient, I went up on the lifts to early and i was bruised from head to toe especially in the butt area (lol).

    Good luck

Snowboarding is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

  5. Short of having an ambulance on site, you probably should dress like a football player....even some cushions tucked in the right places will ease the pain....and yes, there will be pain.  lol  Good luck!

  6. You are going to fall a lot. Rent a helmet.

  7. it might not be too late for lessons. you can ask the center when you get there if you can get them if you want. private lessons are possibly the best way to start out snowboarding because the instructor teaches you sooo much. a helmet will help emensely and also having a friend there too makes the trip more enjoyable. also WEAR SNOWPANTS! i can't believe how many people i see on the hills learning how to ride without snowpants. if you try learning with out snowpants it will probly make your time miserable because you will freeze. also dont' get discouraged because you fall. everybody spends like half the time on their butt their first time so dont' feel bad.
