I'm going to Cancun. What do I need to see and do there?

You need to go to the ruins they are very interesting! And if you are a beach person you DEFINATLY need to go to the beaches!!!! It just kinda depends on what you like to do! There are very neat shows there!

You should definetly go swimming with the dolphins! I swam with the dolphins at Parque Nizuk, which is a water park! Very cool! Snorkling at Isla Mujeres! Booze cruise to Isa Mujeres from Fat Tuesdays is fun! Parasailing is so awesome!! You can see the beautiful water from up above!! The clubs, GREAT! Coco Bongos really fun and live! The City is huge inside!! Hope you have tons of fun!!

Not sure if you like horses, but they have an awesome tour that is about 2 hrs long. They take you along the ocean, and though some amazing sight seeing. Its called Paradise Horseback Riding. Also, you have to do the diving tour under the sea! Its amazing. Cancun has one of the most amazing diving tours. The sea life in the area they take you is great. I believe its called the Paradise Reef Snorkel.

fancy restaurants and the amazing hotels... also the shops and nightclubs are good..

i'm sure you can take a day trip somewhere to look at ruins.. but there's not much to do in the city of cancun, it's a vacation spot, not a tourist spot....

We didn't do a ton while we were there, because we just wanted to relax on the beach.  We did do the dolphin swim at Dolphin Discoery on Isla Mujeres and it was a lot of fun.  That island is really neat too.

There are ruins not far from Cancun - Chichen Itza and Tulum, and both are supposed to be awesome.  X-Caret and Xel-Ha are pretty neat places too.
