But how about Eddie Matthews. Hardly anyone ever mentions him among the games greatest sluggers.

I don't know if there is such a thing as an "under-rated" hall of famer, but I can give you a few odd facts about some.

Cal Hubbard (Umpire) - only man to be inducted into both the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sandy Koufax - Youngest player inducted (36 years old when inducted in 1972)

Effa Manley - owner of the Newark Eagles of the N egro League, and the only woman in the Hall of fame.

Stan Musial - had 3630 hits in his career - 1815 at home and 1815 on the road.

Goose Gossage - played for more teams (9) then any other Hall of Famer.
