and I'm looking to book a really nice restaurant for dinner. I've heard that Chapter One is rather good but will welcome other suggestions as it's a special occasion. Thanks

  1. Hi, I took my mum and my niece over to Dublin in April for the day, i visited Dublin last Nov and loved it so much i just had to go back.  Take your mum on a tour bus it goes to all the tourist attractions it's a hop on hop off bus all day for around 14 euros each.  Your mum may like the Post Office on O'Connell St it takes you back in time my mum was fascinated with it.  We ate at Flanagan's that's just past the Post Office nr to McDonald's it was a lovely meal and you don't have to book.Have a great day........

  2. Depends on your budget. Chapter 1 is one of the best restaurants in Dublin, but it's not cheap. Restaurant Patrick Guibaud and L'ecrivain would be of a similar standard and price range. Guibaud's is a bit austere though. The Unicorn is an Italian restaurant that has been around since the 70s. The food is fabulous and it's always buzzing. Also, it's not as expensive as the other three.

Check out www.menupages.ie. It has a detailed listing of restaurants in Dublin with user reviews. I'm usually wary about user ratings as a lot of people have lower standards about restaurants than me, however, this site is pretty accurate in my experience. Have fun.

  3. if you like italian, I can recommend 'milano' on dawson street

if you like chinese, I recommend the ' kingsland' on dame street

japanese? wagamama at stephen's green shopping centre

or for a mix of everything, try 'Luigi Malones' in temple bar

and also 'the bad @ss cafe' in temple bar/crown alley

they  have a great atmosphere in there, and food is top notch

wherever you end up, hope you enjoy your stay and hopefully your mam has a great time

  4. Chapter one is very good,King Citric if you like fish,Gallagher's for Irish food,Gary Rhodes has a place here as well.I can go on 'on.The best advice is tell the hotel where you are staying what food you like and they will sort it out for you, enjoy your stay here

  5. do the bus city tour! its nice and you will see everything in the one day! you can hop on and off where it suits you!

phoenix park and stephen's green park are lovely on a nice day which is pretty rare at the moment!

there is a cool tour called the viking splash tour, you go round dublin and then it goes into the water and you get to wear viking hats and shout at random ppl passing by!

you have to go to guinness's while your here!

and temple bar is a great spot for nightlife and restaurants!
