  1. just show us the middle finger

    we'll understand

one day I'll tell you the story of my daughter-in-laws (American)grandmother telling my wife(English) about her two f***y kitchen

my son and i cried at their mutual embarrassment

  2. I'm going to have a f*g and then go to the lou!  That's great Snizz, I'm happy for you!  It's ok if you talk slow enough they'll understand you. Lol!!!

  3. Yes, you'll be completely unable to communicate over there.  Better start studying now!

  4. well, you seem to be able to type English pretty well, i don't think you will struggle too much.

there isn't that much differnce in the way we speak

unless you go to Yorkshire, then they speak rate funny up there

  5. Won't be a problem where I am, a few of the houses and shops in my street are owned by Americans. Some parts do seen a little genteel sometimes so providing you pronounce "sorry" right you'll be OK.

  6. You'll be okay as long as you remember over here f***y means front bottom and a f@g is a cigarette. Those are the two which probably cause the most confusion and raised eyebrows lol!

  7. England is OK I suppose

they will tease you mercilessly for your Yankee twang and make you drive on the left.

  8. Yes because English is so different to American English you won't be able to understand a word.

  9. Arv trouble speykin english anall, thall aft fot speyk reet slow fert gerrowt.

edit: yull affot tek thi laptop.

    lol

for you SM : I have trouble speaking English as well, you will have to speak very slowly if you want anything.  You will have to take your laptop.

When my Nana had a guest house in Blackpool it was fun, There was 2 old Scottish women that came back every year, they always left 50p for me. They used to say I spoke too fast and they couldn't understand me, I had to say the same to them. lol

  10. lol........try the library

  11. It's "lift", not "elevator"!

What time are we leaving for the flight to Manchester?

  12. Other than in Scotland and Whales you will be fine! Those people can be hard to communicate with when speaking American English.

In England itself you will be ok. There are a few different words but not too bad. "Take out" (food) is "Take away", an eraser is a "rubber", a truck is a "Lorey", Soccer is "football", give me a call="ring me up", French Fries are "chips" and potato chips are "crisps" and the one you need to be most careful of is that a cigarette is a "f*g" so if some one asks you for a "f*g" don't be too alarmed! lol

  13. I speak not only English but Southern English, so when I went to England I had more of a problem understanding them than they did me, but we managed.

Good luck, have fun, wish I was going too.  I got to go twice and even that wasn't enough.
