Question:

I'm going to France in March, should I convert my pounds sterling now or wait?

I don't know much about economics so this is potentially a stupid question, but is there any risk the Euro is going to get stronger against the pound before march, and if so should I convert my money now rather than later?

  1. Hello for the moment there is no big risk that the Euro gets much stronger against the Sterling.

Ask at your Bank about the fees they put on a credit card if you use it in France.Sometimes you can save some money doing that but doublecheck it before some banks do charge high fees so the advantage of better rates between banks is gone.

  2. A game of roulette really!

In any case, you will lose more through what the banks charge for changing the money than anything you save.

Unless you're planning to spend a fortune, it won't make that much difference.

  3. I don't think the Euro will get stronger - it is pretty stable it doesn't really go up or down. The pound sterling is the strongest currency in the world. I would suggest watching the news to see if the Euro's do go down and if they do, change some of your money. But there is no harm in waiting til you get to France
