I'm from the tropics, have a moderately warm suede, faux fur lined coat, some knitted sweaters. Will this be enough? Do I need thermal wear?

  1. I'm a Canadian living in Switzerland (Zurich, which is probably very slightly colder than Geneva) and I'm constantly amazed at how cold the tropical people I know find it here. So my guess is yes, get thermal wear and definitely rain gear, and gloves.

  2. I would also say definitely thermal underwear, a hat that covers your ears or some ear protectors and a scarf. Warm padded shoes preferably anti-water. Geneva can be miserably cold and windy in winter. Better be prepared and then enjoy a sunny warm day :)

  3. Definitely get some warmer things, its damp and cold there, and snowy. Since you're not used to the cold, get thermal stuff.
