I'm 26, love swimming and although completely shallow, my main intention is to get a tan and swim in safe waters devoid of big evils rocks that stab you in the leg, or sharks for that matter.

I want to visit the Anjuna flea market, but apart from that don't ,want to be far from the beach.

I want to find somewhere quiet, away from the drugs and hippies and Russians that I've heard about.

Just a nice beach, local shops, but not where everyother tourist will be, with camera's and shorts and t-shirts.

Thanks all

  1. you can go to coco beach this is the beach where you can find less indians and many people. Foreigners are there YOu can see dolfins there as this is famous for that. or you can go to Calanguate beach famoust beach for more info visit holiday club india .net

  2. You can try out "Cancio's House". www.cancios.spaces.live.com

It's a family run guest house in the country side and the cottage rooms are of the standards of a starred hotel. It's safe, clean and you'll be well taken care of. Quite a few single travellers stay at Cancio's. No drugs, hippies or tourist congestion.....

From "Cancio's House", you can visit many places of interest that are not too far away.

.....and by the way, don't worry about sharks in Goa. The waters are safe from them.

  3. i would suggest goa tourism development corpn hotels located on calngute beach or the GTDC hotel located on mirmar beach. since these r Govt run hotels , rooms are comfy and importantly they are safe for women tourists travelling alone.

there are no sharks in goan beaches, but a lone woman is more likely to be raped by the locals  if she is  moving alone at lonely places. Better u have a known companion or keep suitable protection like chilly spray etc..
