  1. Take a picture of everyone you see, and loudly exclaim..."LOOK, LOOK, I stole your soul....that'll be  50,000 rupie to get it back"

  2. You should bring a camera! Just when your taking pictures, don't rub the camera in the locals' faces b/c then that might make them want to have it.......BRING YOUR CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's probably bea-utiful there!

  3. Yes, definitely bring a camera.  I went to India, before I had my digital camera.  I brought a film camera, but lost one of the 5 rolls of film that I took.  I was crushed!  I can't imagine how you'd feel going there and not bringing back any pictures at all.

On the other hand, since you're 11, I'm guessing your parents or whoever you're going with will bring one, so you can look at their pictures and maybe they'll let you use their camera sometimes.

There is theft in India, but that's true of everywhere else on earth, too.  If you bring one, odds are very small that it'll be stolen, but still just be careful with it.  If it has a strap, use that.  I'll often wrap the strap around my wrist twice.  And certainly don't do anything stupid like sit in a parked car with your camera in your hand and that hand hanging out the window.

  4. if you bring a camera... bring a backpack...

wear your backpack backwards... so that the stuff in in the front.. that way you can keep an eye on all your stuff.....

    or bring a bag...

and make sure the bag has lots of zippers... and always hide money..or valuables in the zippers... have the bag sort of tilted on your stomach not on your side... that way you can keep track of it.

you can bring a camera... but if you do... be very careful.... never put it behind your back.... or hold it by the string...

make sure you double check your items all the time... also... make sure there are alot of familiar people (that you know) around you in case of violence....

i know this is really nit-picky.. but people there will try alot of things.

  5. Yes bring one but bring a disposable one.  They don't cut off arms. LOL  But a real expensive camera may get stolen.

  6. I have seen in a Bean movie also, like the camera is stolen before your eyes. When they show like that, it means it is also prevailing in U.S. also. Wherever you are, you should be careful.

  7. When you are coming all the way to India it would be nice to capture some of it on your camera to revive memories later. However, if you are not careful with it, you may easily lose it.

  8. Dont visit a place with preconceived assumptions.

Standard precautions apply. You are highly liked to be mugged in

    newyork than in india.

India is an ancient country with recorded history dating back to more than 3000 years and is NOT full of snake charmers and elephants.

Please read about Indian culture in the internet or in your local library to get a better idea.

    All the best.

  9. yes bring a camera your going to somewhere special and I really dont think you have the right info with the cut off arms thing lol

  10. Hm. Idk, about all that. I'd maybe bring a desposabal camera, if it was true. Lots of disposabel cameras.

BUT if i was going, I'd just bring my camera.. :]

Its a once in a life time chance. You might not remeber to well! Take some pictures!

click that link. thats what you should bring

  11. Bring a disposable camera.

And don't listen to what people say about "Indian people trying to steal stuff."  People try to steal stuff from you ANYWHERE YOU GO.  And "cut off your arms?"  Where are you getting educated from.....Mississippi?

Indian people are mostly peaceful Hindu.....which is NOT Islamic. The hostile middle east is mostly Islamic.

  12. You must take your camera, it'll be a lifetime experience and you'll regret it if you don't take ur camera with  you!

Do not believe all that you hear :)

Yo are going to a nice country, not a jungle where monkeys attack ur fruit basket ;) :D

All common sense precautions apply there too.. as in any other place in the world..

Always remain close to ur family you're too young to roam around alone in an unfamiliar place anyway.

Do not take any food offered by stragers..

    don't wear valuable jewelry,

keep an eye on ur stuff..

basically do not invite trouble :)

Same goes for the camera, keep ur camera with you, if you leave ur camera in restaurent table and go someplace for a minute you're sure to find it gone ! take a camera that has a waist strap..  or hang it around ur neck and you won't be misplacing it. Don't give the camera in stanger's hands.. not even to get a picture taken..

best yet, get a camera with rolls , not a digital camera. These simple cameras are quite cheap.. you can get the rolls developed later when you get back from the trip.. and even if your camera gets stolen.. nothing much is lost.

    Have a nice trip!

  13. its true, get a piece of c**p kodak! if it gets stolen,so what? that's like,3 bucks! and be care full no one can really see it,just in case.and nothing fancy like earings or somthing, stay with your parents at all times.

  14. There is nothing to worry.  You can defenitely bring the camera.

  15. yes there are many freakish things to see in India take pictures or no one will believe you

  16. who cares.

if its a vacation then deff.

or if youve never been there.

people just say that because they are racist and try to make other cultures sound as bad as possible.

  17. Bring a disposable camera. Its plasic and a one-time-use thing. This way, if it goets stolen, it was only 8 bucks.

I havnt been to india, but its getting more pollitically stable. that dosent mean that it doesnt have areas that are scairy like that, but its getting more and more less like that.

I hope you have fun! And deffinently bring somesort of camera :P

  18. I'm  not sure what happens in India but i will tell you this, stay close to relatives. Only because your in a country that is unfamiliar and you don't know what will and can happen there. Try not to focus on all the negative things that could happen and think positive. This a life time trip, take pictures and enjoy.

When you get back you can tell you friends of all the fun you had,

    Peace and Blessing Love

  19. hello,is safe than another place, ever keep the camera with you and take in the hand, for the rest is very nice to use a camera in india, becasuse indi people like pictures, and the background is wonderfull

  20. Don't believe all that, people are just trying to scare you. It all depends on what part of India you are going to. If its a main city like Mumbai or Delhi, or Calcutta, then don't worry about it. Still, you should always be extra cautious with your property around strangers.

    Have Fun!

  21. You should defiantly bring a camera... so that when you get older you can look back a the great memory's you had in India!

  22. Yes, it true sometimes people will steal items. Although if you are going I would recommended you take it and hide it in a bag or in your pocket. I would prefer to put the camera in my pocket if it was small enough. Or you can go to India and those cheap cameras and take pictures and print them out at a studio. Also India isn't the only place where there are thieves. Everywhere there are thieves. Also I think you got the idea of cutting in arms in movies or something.

    Hope no-one steals your camera!

    Hope it helps!

    Aiidnn

  23. That's nonsense.  Just like anywhere else in the world, people will try to steal.  But that should not stop you from bringing a camera.  A camera is necessary to capture all of your memories on a once in a lifetime trip.  I've never heard of tourists getting their arms cut off.  Bring a camera, keep it with you so it has less chance of being stolen, and don't fret for your arms.  Enjoy your trip!

  24. well i would bring it... just make sure u keep ur stuff close 2 u at all times cuz i mean everywhere is crazy

  25. of course bring one. India is a very unique place and it will be worth it when u have beautiful pictures to remind of of your time.

  26. Ummm.... a digital camera, yeah, sure!  why not?

As long as you have it in a case with a strap that goes across your body, then you should be fine.

Don't let noone else touch it, though, that you don't know.

But honestly, i think the people in india won't try to take it.

They'll try to take your FOOD but not your camera.

That wasn't supposed to be mean.

    Honestly.

Just don't take a donut through the streets or you might get attacked by hungry homeless people.

    So yes, bring the camera!

I am 13, By the wayyy.

    XD

  27. if your going with your parents then you shouldn't worry about it. Go ahead and bring your camera. Oh and avoid shaddy looking people. Just make sure you keep it around your wrist and in your pocket
