I'm going to be in Italy for 2 weeks, starting in Milan and going from there. All I know so far is that the North is cold and the South is warmer.

What places should I visit? and for how long?

  1. I would suggest on going to Rome.. its just a place that you must see.. and 4 days should be efficient.. December unfortunately is a cold time in italy to go travelling. And south of italy.. but that also depends on what u want to see. specific art??

  2. ok first.. you have to try the gellato! (they sell it everywhere in Italy, but every place makes it different..they are all awesome though)

other than that, every town is beautiful, but the history and culture you can find in Rome and Venice is a definite experience in itself!

Have fun and enjoy! not everyone gets to go to Italy in their lifetime, you are very lucky! :)

  3. I would not miss Florence (Firenze) and Rome.

In Italy all cafes ( BAR in Italian) and restaurants are obliged by law to let you use their toilet and offer you a glass of tap water if you demand it free of charge. Sometimes the toilet can be locked and you may need to request the key from the bartender.

Drink a lot of espresso (expresso) and cappucino. If you drink standing next to the bar it is much cheaper than drinking while you are sitting and served by someone.

  4. You can visit Turin, the city of the last Winter Olympic Games, that is 1 hour 30 far from Milan.

There are a lot of beautiful places here!

I can suggest you "5 terre", near Genoa.

Then if you want to visit cities the best are Rome, Florence and Venice.

  5. I don't know if your itinerary includes Naples , but if you go there don't venture out alone.

  6. Hi,

You have to make a visit to Rome!

But on your way down there try visiting one of the small towns to have some of their special atmosphere.

I would suggest Spoleto(Umbria) and Orvieto (Tuscany) as two nice spots.

    Have a nice trip!
