I'm going to Kenya and Tanzania and I want to see the stars. Are they good star gazing places?

Anywhere on safari will allow for fantastic star gazing.  The Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania are wide open landscapes far from the cities.  You might avoid the full moon for best viewing.

You will be at or south of the equator.  If you are coming from much farther north, like the US or Europe, be sure to take sky maps that include both the northern and southern hemispheres, as you will be able to see essentially all of the southern sky from there.  The regions of Sagittarius and Scorpius should be terrific and they will be very high in the sky, like you have never seen them before.
