  1. Once you get there, go for a little walk around the neighbourhood near your hotel. Look for a local Tesco, or Sainsbury's. They will have all of the little munchies or quick groceries you will need while you are there. That night, stay up as late as you would normally go to bed at. Try your hardest not to nap, as this will greatly messup your body clock. Go to bed and sleep until a good time in the morning.

    Refresh yourself in the morning..

I suggest you invest in a two-day double decker tour bus pass. A good company is The Big Bus Tour. Ride the bus around one full route and you will get a great orientation of the city. Stop off at the London Eye, go for a ride on it! Get some good pictures. Then hop back on the tour bus and get off at Harrod's Department Store.. one of the best stores in the world! Make sure to check out the Food Shops, the Egyptian Escalator, and the Expensive clothiers! Along the same road Harrod's is on.. are many top name designer clotheirs as well.

Next day, hop back on your tour bus and go early to see Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard - Usually 10AM! Once you are done there, hop back and zoom over to Westminister Abbey, go for a one hour tour through it. Hop back on and go to the Tower Of London. If you are interested in the Beatles at all .. then I suggest you go for the free Beatles walking tour included with your tour bus ticket.

If you have any extra days, I suggest buying a tube day pass, or 3 day pass. Some extra places to go see include:

    St. Paul's Cathedral

    Kensington Palace

    Maddam Tussaud's

    Tower Bridge

    Picadilly Circus

    Trafalgar Square

Have a look on the www.bigbustours.com website for some more suggested sites!

    Have a great trip! :)

  2. great advice above for sightseeing!  London is one of the best places to vacation to pack in a great city experience with excellent sightseeing and history.

Here are some great places for shopping and people watching:

Camden Town (Camden Market)-you'll see things there that people will be wearing in the US in about 2 years.  Cool funky shops, cool funky people, and a really neat flea market area with everything under the sun at decent prices for London.

Portobello Road marketplace.  Everything from food to clothes to toiletries to antiques.

Of course you will have to walk around Harrod's.

And shop Oxford Street, which has all the major department stores and shops at all price points.

Get a copy of Time Out London at any magazine stand there for everything you need as a tourist or a local-it has all the best listings for clubs, restaurants, museums, markets, day trips, sightseeing, sporting events, fairs, special events, etc.

have a great time.  It's my favorite city!
