  1. Lets see, be protected or not protected???  Which is better???

Get shots for what you can it'll be better.  especially for hepatitis.  Too many possible things to catch so cover your butt and get immunized against everything.

  2. I am an American living in  Mexico.  There are no special shots you need to visit Mexico.  You can talk to your doctor and ask about Hepatitis a shots, but other wisw, unless you are going to spend time in the southern jungles, ther is nothing special you need.  you should be current on the normal vaccinations that are common in the U.S.  There are no immunizations that are required.

  3. It is highly recommended to get the Hepatitis A/B combination shot.  It is a series of 3 shots and you have to start them quite some time prior to going.  Don't worry if you don't have time, it isn't critical and it is pretty rare to contract, but is possible.

I had a friend visit me and she got Hep A.  I'd had my shots so I didn't.

  4. You have choices.  Do not listen to people who have not done their research.  Many of the vaccines are not needed. Also they are not safe. There are still many vaccines that have thimerosal (doctors were not required to get rid of any stock they had, and could still have some). Vaccines are not tested for carcinogenic potential. So it is possible that they could cause cancer. Formaldehyde is in many childhood vaccines and some are made from aborted fetal cells. GROSS! I know that there are risks of not vaccinating, but there are also some scary risks associated with vaccinating. Honestly, I know that people say the risks of having a bad reaction are low, but do you want to take the chance of your child having a bad reaction. Also, I have been looking at each individual vaccine and the need. Hepatitis B is sexually transmitted, so the risk for an infant is not there. Hepatitis A, is not needed either, many times children can have it without symptoms, and then they are immune for life (that is more than a vaccine can do). Mumps are usually asymptomatic, so this vaccine is not always necessary. Diptheria can be cured with an antibiotic. Measels used to be a normal childhood disease, adn people gained lifetime immunity. Vaccinations do not give lifetime immunity. That is why people have to get booster shots... If you are torn and need more time to think about it, delay the vaccines and you can always get them later. But you will NEVER be able to take them back. I am also not trying to force my views. It is for you to decide. If you want some more reading material on the subject, e-mail me.

Also there are more links in my profile. And children do not need them for school (there are waivers in every state). So do not let that be the only reason that you do it.
