I'll be going with a tour but we will have time to explore on our own in the evening. So any places we should visit?

We will also visit Quebec City...so any suggestions? Any art district galleries or evening family entertainment?

thanks in advance...

  1. Fireworks Saturday nights at 10PM (Jacques-Cartier Bridge, La Ronde).

Festival du Francofolies (St Catherine & Jeanne Mance, metro Place des Arts)

  2. wow welcome to Montreal..It's one of the best places i've ever been, I've been here for 6 years now and i chose to live here forever..hehehe

Old Port is one nice romantic place that you wanna hang around with because of it's view, besides there are so many restaurants around there that you can go to by just strolling around..You can also take a Caleche ride, that's a Horse-drawn carriage ride through Old Montreal.

There are also cruises that woill take you around through Lachine canal that will give you a whole picture of downtown montreal and the talk-about casino de montreal. These cruises serve foods so if you wanna have a romantic evening with someone, take the cruise and have your dinner in that floating restaurant.

But if you are a party/bar person, go to the heart of downtown ( St.Catherine St., Cresent St....) and have the best and most friendly bar people in town!

  3. Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal

It's a beautiful cathedral oh my goodness. The view is fantastic! As for restaurants, I can't think of any in particular but, I know that lebanese food is VERY popular there. It tastes great too!

    Have fun!

  4. YOUR SOOO LUCKY. Montreal is such a nice city with amazing culture and people.

For food go to Benelux it's on sherbrooke street west. The decor is insane and it's pretty well priced.

For coffee hmm- Cafe El Dorado is really cute. Mont- Royal Avenue East.

Breakfast? Go to Chez Cora. You will go to heaven after eating the french toast. It's on Drummond Street.

Crescent Street is sooo much fun!

Check out the Old Port of Montreal, mainly around St. Paul Street and Place Jacques-Cartier

If your out friday- there are local artists display their s**z.

    The biodome!

  5. Evenings on rainy weekends in Montreal are best spent inside restaurants, cafés and clubs. Crescent street has so much to offer. You could also check out St-Laurent around Duluth. Mont-Royal near the metro has nice places also. You could also catch a music or comedy show.

As for breakfast.... Cora the food is just OK, but it's full of families with screaming kids. If you want the REAL GREAT places go to Eggspectations or L'Avenue. These are the places where food is an art form and you eat masterpieces.

Quebec city has many to offer since it's the 400th anniversary.

The Image Mill is a must see

The world’s biggest-ever outdoor architectural projection. An animated mosaic on the immense Bunge concrete silos transformed into an enormous screen. Forty minutes of images that recount the city’s story over the years.

    Have fun!
