  1. Well obviously New York is famous for there shops, and very expensive overrated coffee shops.   But just walking around the city is very interesting, I recommend maybe seeing the falls on the border it really is pretty there and your mom will enjoy it as well.  Well good luck sorry i couldn't be more help.

  2. Okay first of all, I don tthink it's cheesy, actually it's very sweet. If you are into fashion/stores, NYC is perfect...You could go to brand stores on Fifth Avenue....they might be expensive but still fun to look at, Saks, Bloomingdales. You could also go to the Fashion District in downtown. It;'s really good.

For museums, there is Museum of Moden Art(MOMA) - my favourite, Museum of Natural history etc. But they are really big and it takes a long time to see them.

For mother-daughter stuff, you could see a broadway show, or Opera if you are interested. You could go to one of the tea rooms: http://gonyc.about.com/od/restaurants/tp...

Just roaming in NYC, looking at architectures, eating in different places should be fun

  3. I'm not sure where you're from but if you're not an an american citizen I would definitely recommend macy's on W 34th St - if you're a visitor you can get a 15% discount card (I think it 15%) - and around that street you've got a really nice Old Navy that you're mum will love (mine really really did), one of my favorite stores is Urban Outfitters - you've got a really good one on Broadway between Bleecker st. and E Houston

But why not combine your mum's love for museums with your love of fashion? go to the Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology  on 7th avenue at 27 street and it's free

The museum of natural history is really great too

    I would also recommend - Serendipity  - 225 E. 60th St., between 2nd & 3rd Avenues - great ice cream and desserts and Dylan's Candy Bar - awesome candy and the cupcakes are AMAZING it's on 3rd ave @ e 60th st

Strawberry Fields - a Memorial to John Lennon Central Park West & 72nd St. (go into central park from that street you'll see it) - it's a place I really like to go to whenever i'm around

I would also recommend going to an outlet mall such as jersey gardens or woodbury common - just spend the day there and get some shopping done

What ever you're gonna do with your mum, will be great - just walking around is great and you'll discover some fun spots which is always awesome

    Hope this helps :)

  4. You may watch Broadway shows are just around the Central Park.
