Im going to volunteer at the regional parks in south of Paris. Location Vitry / Seine 3. I am an American so i'm familiar with this area. How are the people? Are they friendly towards foreigners? How is the environment? Any good places to visit? Any good restaurants?

  1. Paris is tiny compared with most other cities, you can pretty much walk or "Metro" anywhere.  Parisians generally are very friendly, though they are mostly horribly good-looking.

About the restaurants...Paris is full of them, and it would be easier to list the half-dozen to avoid the hundreds worth eating at!

Be sure to visit the Catacombs  (http://itotd.com/articles/206/paris-cata... ),  eat some cheese with a bottle of wine under the Eiffel Tower (while humming "Little Eiffel" by the Pixies, you'll meet someone interesting!), and go see François-Marie Arouet de Voltaire's body in his stone box in the Pantheon, and his heart at the Bibliotheque Nationale.
